Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner is a fund raising event sponsored by Trinity United Church and Good Shepherd Anglican Church. It is meant to create fellowship and sharing of interests ,over good food ,as well as raising funds for both of the churches.
In April 2024, we have 13 dinners, lunches or brunches that are offered and we will be starting our bidding for these dinners, lunches and brunches on Sunday, April 21 at 10:15 AM (by Dale’s watch time) and they will continue to be sold on Sunday, April 28 and May 5, if still available.
The bidding will close at 12 noon on May 5 or sooner. Bidding will start at $75 for each of the dinners, lunches or brunches, but there is a “Buy it Now” price that will be listed on each of the posters .Once the “Buy it Now” price is reached ,the dinner is considered sold.
On May 5, if the dinners, lunches or brunches have not reached the “Buy it Now” price ,it will be sold at the highest bid at that particular point in time.
A tax receipt for 2/3 of the bidding price will be issued to the purchasers of the dinner, lunch or brunch. For example, if a dinner sells for $300, a tax receipt of $200 will be issued the purchasers.
If you are bidding on one of the dinners ,lunches or brunches offered for Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner, you can bid as an individual or as a group. For example, a dinner for six is being offered for six guests and that could be shared to with up to six different people .In this example, if the dinner sold for $300,each persons share would be $50 and tax receipts would be issued in accordance to the number of shares in the dinners. In this case ,$34 per share.
Dinners ,lunches and brunches are to be arranged for a mutually agreeable time and date between the host and the buyers. (List of dinners/lunches/brunches has been included in previous emails and is available upon request).
