This is the last week for our Stewardship Campaign. Each week, we have watched and listened to the speakers as they reflect on why they love Trinity; please print and fill out page 2 of the pledge form (attached here) and return it by November 14th or email or call the office with your wishes. For envelopes, please contact the office or Irma (204 269 1632). We are grateful for every gift given to the mission and ministry of Trinity United.

West Broadway: They are now serving hot dinners Monday through Thursday and are closed Fridays. They have a Wish List Boutique. They allow fully vaccinated individuals the opportunity to come inside and choose items they most need. Suggested items include canned meat, fruit and vegetables, preferably in pull-top cans and individual serving oatmeal packets along with peanut butter, rice, pasta, beans, canned stew, cereal, etc are always needed. Any items will be accepted at Trinity and delivered to West Broadway, once a week. The cart is outside for donations Sunday to Friday mornings from 9-1pm (except holidays). Call the church at 204-269-1632 to arrange alternate times to drop off donations.

The Big Question: 1st Sunday of the month; this month it’s on November 14th, 9:30-10:15am on Zoom
Holy Yoga: Saturdays 10-11am followed by coffee and conversation until noon on Zoom
Trinity Walkers: November 11th is Remembrance Day. Do any of you want to join me for a walk on the 11th?  Let me know where you would be interested in walking. As always, if you have any questions or know of a place that you enjoy walking do not hesitate to phone or email and let me know.. All walks start at 9:30 and please call me prior to our walk so that we can walk together.
SSCFF has programs for in person and simultaneously on Zoom! Mondays are Yoga with Wynn; Tuesdays are exercise with Suni; both are offered 1:30-2:30pm. If you are attending in person, we must follow the health orders for that program. Please talk to Irma for details or to join either program, either way. 

Bomber parking and crosswalks: the Bombers have made the playoffs! Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers who have signed up for all regular and playoff games!

Following a meeting on September 8th, the Board prayerfully decided to begin in person, indoor service at Trinity every second Sunday; the next in person, indoor worship is September 26th.This motion was passed:

In-person, indoor worship must ensure: Contact tracing information gathered; COVID screening questions asked; Mandatory masking; Hand sanitizer use; Social distancing between families and individuals; No singing during service; Main floor sanitized following service;

For the safety and health of all people attending in-person indoor worship at Trinity United Church, Trinity United Church strongly advises that everyone attending in-person indoor worship be fully vaccinated. We cannot guarantee you will not contract COVID while attending worship.

If you are unable to attend in-person indoor worship, Trinity United Church continues to offer weekly You tube services; Sunday School kits for at-home Sunday School; monthly Zoom gatherings for senior Sunday School/Youth Group, as well as weekly/monthly programs such as walking group, Yoga and Bible Study.

IMPORTANT PROVISO: The above Motion must be in full compliance with current and future provincial Public Health Orders.

According to the current Manitoba Public Health Orders, beginning October 4, 2021 we can have 100 people on the main floor. Volunteers will be available to help you at 10:15 am (asking COVID questions, contact tracing, hand sanitizing, ushering, etc.). Check out our great new carpeting and CHAIRS in the Sanctuary.

A note from Ed: the new chairs have arrived!
Wow! What a crew! Thank you all for the great work you did this morning at the “chairs unloading party”. The weather co-operated and the work was completed in efficient time. all cardboard, metals and plastics have been disposed off. Next up, in about 2.5 months we will have another shorter party, and hopefully we can enjoy muffins and hot chocolate as well. We will keep you in touch as we receive updates on the delivery. Thank again, from the Property Committee!

A note from Jackie and Dennis:
Dear Trinity folks, This is a picture of our grandson Jack, he is five years old and lives with cystic fibrosis (CF).  He loves playing hockey, going to Kindergarten, and he loves his friends and family. 

In October, I had petitions at Trinity United Church and I asked many of you to sign the petitions.  
Petition #1 urged the Minister of Health to provide funding for new cystic fibrosis medications and Petition #2 urged the Minister of Health to establish a Cystic Fibrosis Symptom Management Drug Plan

Thank you to the folks at Trinity United Church for signing the petitions which are directed at improving the health and the quality of life for Manitobans living with cystic fibrosis. Jack and all of our family deeply  appreciate your signatures of these petitions. 

As an update: On October 22,2021 the Manitoba government did add the new cystic fibrosis drug, Trikafta, to the provincial formulary.  This will make Trikafta available for those who meet the eligibility for the treatment. Having Trikafta available in our province will benefit many Manitobans living with cystic fibrosis.

The Outreach Committee would like you to know about some changes that have been made at West Broadway.
Instead of a lunch program, they are now serving hot dinners Monday through Thursday and are closed Fridays. This decision was made because there are other lunch programs in the neighborhood. Examples of the hot meals are pancakes and bacon, stews and pasta.

They have also made changes to the Emergency Food Pantry and now call it the Wish List Boutique. Now instead of just handing clients a bag of emergency supplies, they allow fully vaccinated individuals the opportunity to come inside and choose items they most need. Suggested items include canned meat, fruit and vegetables, preferably in pull-top cans and individual serving oatmeal packets along with peanut butter, rice, pasta, beans, canned stew, cereal, etc are always needed.

Any of the mentioned items will be accepted at Trinity and delivered to West Broadway, once a week. The cart is outside for donations Sunday to Friday mornings from 9-1pm (except holidays). Call the church at 204-269-1632 to arrange alternate times to drop off donations.

Prayer: (created by the Moderator, Richard Bott) Hi, God…it’s still dark out,but I’ve woken, and sleep and I won’t be meeting again (at least, not until lunchtime, when my eyelids droop and I take an impromptu  “break”), so I’m going to take this opportunity, this bit of unexpected quiet, to chat with you, for a moment. There is so much going on right now. Lots of it to celebrate, I’m sure. But, to be honest, my celebration keeps derailing, in the frustrations and the fears and the chaos that is life.  Some of it is inside of me, some of it is inside my friends and colleagues, and some of it is inside that day-to-day living in this world brings. So, I’m asking for help, today. Help to calm the storm that is in me, help to calm the storm that is in the church, help to calm the storm that is in the world…  so that I can remember the things for which I am thankful, once again, and in that remembering, have the wherewithal to not only step into whatever is coming next, but, non-anxiously, help the world to remember, too. And I hope that all of our words, and all of our actions, refilled with your grace, would be healing and hopeful, for all your creation. Bless our God, Oh my soul, and sing out with all that you are…in Christ’s name.Amen.
