In our Prayers:
We pray for all who are being impacted by the wildfires here in our province and beyond, especially for anyone who will be rebuilding what was lost.
*We pray for Connie Fillion who is in hospital dealing with health issues.
We pray for Bill Munro as he deals with health issues.
We pray for Ellen Johnson who is dealing with health issues, and for her family who are supporting Ellen.
We pray for Bernice Gregory who is dealing with health issues.
We pray for Sumi as she continues her recovery following cancer treatment. We pray for Sumi’s three nieces Ameera, Anupaa, and Anuka in the camp in Nepal as they need support for their security and protection. We pray too for Damber’s mother, Dhan Khadka as she faces serious health issues. Damber and Sumi are grateful for the prayers and support of the congregation.
We pray for Priest Jennifer Sisson, Good Shepherd Anglican (GSA) and her family as her husband Bishop Geoff Woodcroft faces health issues.
Congratulations to Lily Hemlow for receiving the Top Grade 9 Female Athlete of the Year Award at Vincent Massey Highschool. Given that her Highschool is a large, sports-minded, facility with very high standards makes this achievement even more special.
From Prairie to Pine Region:
Please hold in prayer the following communities of faith: Kenora: Knox; Winnipeg:McClure; Rosser/Gross Isle
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with evacuees from wildfires across the Regional Council area as the state of emergency has been lifted in the province of Manitoba, and many returned to their home communities. We continue to pray for those involved in emergency response, including the firefighters, as the wildfire season continues.
Our prayers and CONGRATULATIONS are with students celebrating graduations in the coming days, attached to various stages of their educational journeys! Our thoughts and prayers are also with all students and teachers as they transition into the summer holidays.
From Outreach:
*Please be aware that West Broadway Ministry is no longer providing meals to their guests. They do provide a take and go bag lunch. For that purpose, they only need sandwich fixings (canned meat, tuna, peanut butter, etc,) granola bars, and fruit cups. Please adjust your donations in the grocery cart accordingly. Thank you!

Volunteers needed: Lenore has been working in the flower beds on both the east and west side of the church. She is asking for volunteers to help with the weeding and watering. Volunteers are asked to sign up for a week or two over the summer months. If you are able to help please call the church office. Lenore will be happy to let you know what needs to be done.

60th Anniversary Celebrations
During the 60th Anniversary of Trinity celebration, members of the congregation were invited to write their fond memories of Trinity. Over 60 cards with memories were collected over the weeks of the celebration. The committee has decided to share these memories in the announcements over the next 6 weeks.
Here is this week’s collection of memories:
From the 60th anniversary committee, here is this week’s compilation of your treasured memories of Trinity:
“Christmas concerts … The Best Christmas Pageant Ever …. Praise and worship service … Bomber games parking … Pancake lunch for Fort Richmond Collegiate students during exams … Our historical documents tell us that St. Norbert United Church originally belonged to an Anglican Church … In 1965, the building was put on a flatbed truck and transported to Pembina Hwy … This small congregation was led by the Reverend Tom Saunders from 1965 until 1971 … The Reverend Grant Smith presided from 1971 – 1982 … The name “Trinity United Church” was chosen as the church would welcome people from Fort Richmond, St. Norbert and Waverley Heights. “
From the 100th Anniversary Task Group
The 100th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada committee unveiled its’ fundraising campaign to assist Damber and Sumi with their three nieces, Ameera, Anupaa, and Anuka who are in a refugee camp in Nepal. Ameera is 15, Anupaa is 12 and Anuka is only 9 years old. Damber and Sumi send money every month to care for the girls, but we can help, too.
We invite you to give the gift of one dollar for every year the United Church of Canada has been in existence. We’d like to call it “A 100 for the 100th. Of course, we will accept any amount you feel you would like to give, be it less or more.
Here is how The DAMBER PROJECT will work:
· We will gladly accept cash or cheques. Cheques may be made out to “Trinity United Church” and should be designated to THE DAMBER PROJECT. Funds will be disbursed as needed, and at Damber’s discretion between now and the end of June.
· A member of the 100th Anniversary committee will be available before or after each service each Sunday morning from now until June.
· If you are dropping by Trinity during the week, you can leave your donation in the office.
· If you’d like to leave your gift in the offering plate, please be sure to indicate that it is for THE DAMBER PROJECT, so that the cashiers will know.
Thank you so much for helping members of our extended Trinity family!
