In our Prayers:

We extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Irma, her family, friends, and relatives as they mourn the loss of her dear sister, Mary Loeppky, in British Columbia. May God surround the family with His peace, comfort, and loving presence during this difficult time. We pray for Ellen Johnson who is dealing with health issues, and for her family who are supporting Ellen.

We pray for Bernice Gregory who is dealing with health issues.

We pray for Sumi as she continues her recovery following cancer treatment. We pray for Sumi’s three nieces Ameera, Anupaa, and Anuka in the camp in Nepal as they need support for their security and protection.  We pray too for Damber’s mother,  Dhan Khadka as she faces serious health issues. Damber and Sumi are grateful for the prayers and support of the congregation.

We pray for Priest Jennifer Sisson, Good Shepherd Anglican (GSA) and her family as her husband Bishop Geoff Woodcroft faces health issues.

Message from Personnel Committee: After seven years as our Staff Associate, Irma Nadeau has decided to resign from her position. At our TUC Board Meeting on Wednesday, May 28, the Board accepted with regret Irma’s notice of resignation effective November 30. Irma, you have served us well and we say thank you! We will continue to enjoy and appreciate your work among us in the coming months.

*NEW: On behalf of the Outreach CommitteeThanks to everyone who was able to make a donation to the Wildfire Evacuees on such short notice. The response from Trinity was truly wonderful! We delivered the items on Monday to the Bomber Store and they were taking all 7 pallets that they had collected to donate to the Southern Chiefs Organization and The Manitoba Metis Federation. For those who still wish to help, we suggest you contact the Red Cross or the Southern Chiefs Organization directly (see below) to make a donation or volunteer. We can keep all those impacted at this difficult time in our hearts and prayers.

  • Donations are being accepted by the Red Cross online by searching redcross.ca and following the instructions for Donate Now. **NOTE: The Government of Canada and the Government of Manitoba will match donations to the 2025 Manitoba Wildfires Appeal from May 28 to June 27, 2025. Every $1 donated will become $3 to support the families and individuals most affected by the wildfires.
  • Southern Chiefs’ Organization is accepting financial donations as well as many items (see attachment.) Cheques can be made payable to the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs.  All funds received will go directly towards supporting the urgent needs of evacuees.

**Volunteers needed: Lenore has been working in the flower beds on both the east and west side of the church. She is asking for volunteers to help with the weeding and watering. Volunteers are asked to sign up for a week or two over the summer months. If you are able to help please call the church office. Lenore will be happy to let you know what needs to be done.

From the 100th Anniversary Task Group

The 100th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada committee unveiled its’ fundraising campaign to assist Damber and Sumi with their three nieces, Ameera, Anupaa, and Anuka who are in a refugee camp in Nepal. Ameera is 15, Anupaa is 12 and Anuka is only 9 years old. Damber and Sumi send money every month to care for the girls, but we can help, too.

We invite you to give the gift of one dollar for every year the United Church of Canada has been in existence. We’d like to call it “A 100 for the 100th. Of course, we will accept any amount you feel you would like to give, be it less or more.

Here is how The DAMBER PROJECT will work:

· We will gladly accept cash or cheques. Cheques may be made out to “Trinity United Church” and should be designated to THE DAMBER PROJECT. Funds will be disbursed as needed, and at Damber’s discretion between now and the end of June.

· A member of the 100th Anniversary committee will be available before or after each service each Sunday morning from now until June.

· If you are dropping by Trinity during the week, you can leave your donation in the office.

· If you’d like to leave your gift in the offering plate, please be sure to indicate that it is for THE DAMBER PROJECT, so that the cashiers will know.

Thank you so much for helping members of our extended Trinity family!
