TUC Announcements July 18 2024

“Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” Colossians 3:14 (NRSV)

On Sunday, July 21, Rev. Damber Khadka will lead worship. Worship starts at 9:30 a.m. See summer worship schedule below

Scripture Readings:    Ephesians 2:11–22 You are holy citizens, members of God’s household. Mark 6:30–34, 53–56 Jesus teaches from a boat and heals the sick.

Scripture to ponder: Psalm 89 offers a timeless reassurance of God’s unwavering love and steadfast presence in our lives, regardless of our shortcomings or failures. It reminds us that God’s faithfulness extends beyond our ability to perfectly follow or attentively listen. This psalm resonates with the comforting promise that God’s love endures through all circumstances, offering hope and encouragement to those who seek solace in His enduring grace.

Prayer: Loving God , thank you for your boundless love and unwavering presence in our lives. In moments of doubt or distraction, help us to feel your guiding hand and hear your comforting voice. Grant us the wisdom to follow your path and the strength to trust in your unfailing love. Amen

We are grateful to Gerta deJong, Marilyn Loat and Karen Wall for cashiering this Sunday.

Please send an email to the office (tuc@mymts.net) or call the office (204-269-1632) with any updated information. Keeping our records current helps us to ensure that our pastoral care and efforts meet your needs.

Please do not hesitate to let us know of any needs you wish us to know about.

Summer office hours: Please note during June, July and August the office will generally be open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s always a good idea to call ahead if you need to access the office. With construction underway there may be times when the office needs to be closed.

In our prayers: Our prayers and thoughts are with Sumi and Damber as they are mourning the death of their niece (Rosina Gurung) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The friends and families from TUC send the bereaved families and relatives our deepest sympathies and condolences as you grieve the loss of your beloved one. May you find comfort and peace in this difficult time. We pray for a speedy recovery for Sumi as she is anticipating radiation therapy at the end of July.

Marceline Ndayumvire has appreciated our prayers and support during recent months and is now continuing recovery at home.

Congratulations to Irma Nadeau who has just received her Certificate for Licensed Lay Worship Leaders. She has been licensed by the Prairie to Pine Regional Council, having been recommended by Trinity United Church and having met all the licensing requirements of the Regional Council. Irma has worked hard to earn this license on her coursework over recent years and we have appreciated her many fine contributions to leading our worship services during this time. She is now licensed to provide Worship Leadership in other churches in our Region as well as Trinity, but Irma has assured us she will always put Trinity’s needs first when requested to lead worship. Irma, we are grateful for your leadership excellence and your faith-based loving care for us in worship and beyond.

Bomber Fundraiser:  Please keep checking the sign up sheets in the narthex and sign up where you are able.

If you have never done this before and would like to give it a try, talk to Marilyn or Irma. We still need volunteers as follows:  August 1, 5:30 pm (1); August 23, 5:30pm. (6); September 7, noon or earlier (4); September 27, 5:00pm (filled); October 11, 5:30 pm. (1). If you are able to sign up as a spare for any of the games that are already filled, that would be very helpful as we sometimes have some last minute cancellations.

On Friday, July 12 Mary Pelton celebrated her 80th birthday at the bomber game by accepting donations of hats, underwear and socks for Siloam Mission. Attached is a picture of some of the goods that she collected at the North crosswalk that has been her post for many years. Well done Mary! Thank you.

From the  Outreach Committee:  Habitat for Humanity – Trinity has been asked once again to donate baked goods and fresh fruit for one coffee break at the build site. We have offered to provide 10-12 dozen items. We will be collecting from July 28 -August 13. All baking must be NUT FREE and individually wrapped. Cookies can be in packs of 2. Please wash and wrap any fresh fruit. Thank you for your support.
