Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner is a fund raising event sponsored by Trinity United Church and Good Shepherd Anglican Church. It is meant to create fellowship and sharing of interests, over good food, as well as raising funds for both of the churches. The 13 dinners, lunches and brunches posters will be on display in the Narthex on Sunday April 14. No bids will be accepted until Sunday April 21 at 10:15 am.
The bidding will close at 12 noon on May 5 or sooner. Bidding will start at $75 for each of the dinners, lunches or brunches, but there is a “Buy it Now” price that will be listed on each of the posters. Once the “Buy it Now” price is reached, the dinner is considered sold.
On May 5, if the dinners, lunches or brunches have not reached the “Buy it Now” price, it will be sold at the highest bid at that particular point in time.
A tax receipt for 2/3 of the bidding price will be issued to the purchasers of the dinner, lunch or brunch. For example, if a dinner sells for $300, a tax receipt of $200 will be issued the purchasers.
If you are bidding on one of the dinners, lunches or brunches offered for Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner, you can bid as an individual or as a group. For example, a dinner for six is being offered for six guests and that could be shared to with up to six different people. In this example, if the dinner sold for $300, each persons share would be $50 and tax receipts would be issued in accordance to the number of shares in the dinners. In this case, $34 per share.
Dinners, lunches and brunches are to be arranged for a mutually agreeable time and date between the host and the buyers. (List of dinners/lunches/brunches has been included in previous emails and is available upon request).

All services are at 10:30am.
Services include hymn singing, scripture readings, short poems/readings, prayers, a short message, and end with a blessing.
Our team consists of Debbie Spindler, Maryann Koop, Barbara Tallman, Val McKay, Joann Sauve, Roberta Irvine, Terry DeLong, and Nancy DeLong. (not everyone is available every month).

Thank you to Carl Shaykewich who has volunteered to look after small electronic recycling items (items that can be handled by one person). You can continue to bring smaller items to the church. If you have larger items to recycle, please call the church and we will try to get volunteers to help with that. Please make sure that any ink cartridges are securely wrapped to avoid spillage of the ink!
We need someone to help us:
– navigate hybrid meetings using Zoom and in person attendance.
– record services on a Sunday morning.
– edit the videos once they have been recorded.
We continue to need people to read scripture and pray for Sunday services.
And if you’d like to lead a service and/or deliver a message, please be in touch with the worship committee.
