The Property Committee is pleased to announce that this week Trinity United received a grant of $45,000 from the Sir Thomas Cropo Foundation Inc to help with the washroom renovation project! This adds to the $60,000 from Winnipeg Foundation received earlier this year and the $50,000 received from the City of Winnipeg by RKNS means we are well on our way to securing funding for this important renovation. If you’d like to know more about Tom Cropo’s legacy of support to the community, please visit their website: https://www.cropofoundation.org/
A message from the Board:
As we look to the end of the year, we are aware we will likely have a deficit which was predicted by the deficit budget passed at the Annual meeting. To help us reduce the deficit, we ask people to prayerfully consider a “Christmas gift” to Trinity. Today is a good moment to consider supporting an organization that reflects your values and way of life. To keep you informed, these are most recent financials:
Sept income $18,994.05 expenses $ 22,104.55 = ($3,110.50)
Oct income $21,541.41 expenses $21,061.31 = $480.10
Jan to Oct income $179,416.13 expenses $209,127.51 = ($29,711.38)
Last Sunday for the Outreach projects for Christmas: Boxes will be in the narthex area, clearly marked for the organization. Please do NOT wrap your items.
The Mitten Tree – Trinity’s tradition for many, many years. Mittens and hats will be distributed to local schools.
Christmas hampers for local schools – Many of the families receive hampers from their school. We will collect non-perishable food items to be distributed to the schools. Suggestions are lentils, rice, canned meats, pasta and sauces, beans, etc.
Gifts With Vision – The United Church catalogue is available online at https://giftswithvision.ca/ for those wishing to make a contribution to church projects, both in Canada and abroad.
Velma’s House – New this year! This is a resource under the parent organization Ka Ni Kanichihk for women fleeing violence on Winnipeg streets and requiring a temporary refuge. Most women receiving assistance are in their 20’s. There is a need for new warm socks and underwear for this organization.

Upon hearing the preliminary research findings on deaths and unmarked graves at the Alberni residential institution, The United Church of Canada, both regionally and nationally, hears the Tseshaht First Nation’s specific Calls for Truth and Justice directed to us, and commits to continued conversation with them about specific actions in response. Every Child Matters.
