Photo directory:
Have you heard an announcement regarding someone from Trinity or Good Shepherd congregations and can’t put a face to the name?
We are having Canada Photo Services produce a pictorial directory in order to help us re-acquaint ourselves with one another and strengthen the bond of our faith communities.
Portraits will be taken October 4, 5, 6, & 7th here at the church. You will be able to view the portrait at the same time. Everyone will receive a free directory for participating and have an opportunity to purchase a studio quality portrait if you wish but there is no obligation to purchase.
You can sign up for an appointment before and after services on Sunday, Sept. 17th or 24th or give Kathy a call in the office (204 269-1632).
Our directory will not be complete without You.
Soup Fundraiser is back! the list of soup ingredients is attached and orders can be placed before and after church Sept 17, 24. Soups will be dropped off and picked up on Saturday September 20th at Trinity. Thank you!
Bomber fund raiser: thank you to all the folks who volunteered for the games! We have all games filled! If you’d like to volunteer and are not sure what it entails, be in touch with Marilyn or Irma or Elizabeth and we’ll arrange for you to “shadow” someone for part of any of the next 2 games. As an added incentive, we’ll offer you access to the stadium for part of the game!
We are grateful to Gerta de Jong and Maryann Koop for cashiering this Sunday.
We need two more cashiers to fill our roster. We’ll provide training and you’ll be doing this with an experienced person. Please be in touch with Gerta if you’d like to help out. Thank you!
We hold in prayer Val McKay and her mom, Anne.
We hold in prayer Susan and Doug Delaney’s family members Darryl and Diane Knight as they move through health struggles. They are grateful for all our prayers.
We hold in prayer community members and families as we mourn Rebecca Contois, Morgan Harris, Marcedes Myran, and Mashkode Bizhiki’ikwe and all Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women
We continue to hold the people of James Smith Cree Nation and the nearby village of Weldon, Saskatchewan in our prayers.
Upon hearing the preliminary research findings on deaths and unmarked graves at the Alberni residential institution, The United Church of Canada, both regionally and nationally, hears the Tseshaht First Nation’s specific Calls for Truth and Justice directed to us, and commits to continued conversation with them about specific actions in response. Every Child Matters.
Scripture for this week: Exodus 14:19-31; Psalm 114; Romans 14:1-12; Matthew 18:21-35; we’ll use Luke 15
Scripture to ponder: Psalm 103: With all my heart I praise the Lord, and with all that I am I praise his holy name! With all my heart I praise the Lord!
I will never forget how kind he has been
Prayer: We are reminded that there is beauty and hope in all creation, even wilderness can be inspirational if we can but see your creative hand at work in all creation, even in wilderness O God. Amen
