Photo directory:

Have you heard an announcement regarding someone from Trinity or Good Shepherd congregations and can’t put a face to the name?

We are having Canada Photo Services produce a pictorial directory in order to help us re-acquaint ourselves with one another and strengthen the bond of our faith communities.

Portraits will be taken October 4, 5, 6, & 7th here at the church.  You will be able to view the portrait at the same time.  Everyone will receive a free directory for participating and have an opportunity to purchase a studio quality portrait if you wish but there is no obligation to purchase.

You can sign up for an appointment before and after services on Sunday, Sept. 10th, 17th or 24th or give Kathy a call in the office (204 269-1632).

Our directory will not be complete without You.

NATIONAL CHURCH LEADERS: ACTION IN SUPPORT OF THE VOICES AT CAMP MARCEDES AND CAMP MORGAN

A red dress on a red background, and the text #SearchtheLandfill

At 4:00 PM on Tuesday September 5, leaders of four major church denominations will be at Camp Morgan just outside the Brady landfill in Winnipeg. They will urge provincial political leaders to give the go-ahead to search the Prairie Green Landfill for the remains of two missing Indigenous women, Morgan Harris and Marcedes Myran.
The Right Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne, Moderator of the United Church, The Rev. Mary Fontaine, Moderator of The Presbyterian Church in Canada, The Rev. Susan Johnson, National Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, The Most Rev. Chris Harper, National Indigenous Anglican Bishop, and The Rev. Canon Dr. Murray Still, Co-Chair of the Anglican Council of Indigenous Peoples, will visit Camp Morgan in solidarity with those calling for justice and an end to the violence against Indigenous women, children, and Two-Spirit people. You are invited to join in prayer at that time, and to join in person if you can, to bear witness, to support the families and communities, and to continue our truth and reconciliation responsibilities. Wear No More MMIWG2S shirts or September 30 orange shirts or red or just come. Any updates will be posted here.   Please see the Prairie to Pine Regional Council website for details: www.prairietopinerc.ca

Soup Fundraiser is back! the list of soups is attached and orders can be placed before and after church or by calling the church office (204 269 1632). Soups can be dropped off and picked up on Saturday September 30th at Trinity. Thank you!

Bomber fund raiser: thank you to all the folks who volunteered for the games! We have all games filled! If you’d like to volunteer and are not sure what it entails, be in touch with Marilyn or Irma or Elizabeth and we’ll arrange for you to “shadow” someone for part of any of the next 3 games. As an added incentive, we’ll offer you access to the stadium for part of the game!

We are grateful to Ed and Leslie Johnson and Sandi and Glen Fitzmaurice for cashiering this Sunday.

We need two more cashiers to fill our roster. We’ll provide training and you’ll be doing this with an experienced person. Please be in touch with Gerta if you’d like to help out. Thank you!

We hold in prayer Mary and Bill Pelton’s son Robert, Mary Beth, Owen and Averie.

We hold in prayer Val McKay and her mom, Anne.

We hold in prayer Susan and Doug Delaney’s family members Darryl and Diane Knight as they move through health struggles. They are grateful for all our prayers.

We hold in prayer community members and families as we mourn Rebecca Contois, Morgan Harris, Marcedes Myran, and Mashkode Bizhiki’ikwe and all Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

We continue to hold the people of James Smith Cree Nation and the nearby village of Weldon, Saskatchewan in our prayers.

Upon hearing the preliminary research findings on deaths and unmarked graves at the Alberni residential institution, The United Church of Canada, both regionally and nationally, hears the Tseshaht First Nation’s specific Calls for Truth and Justice directed to us, and commits to continued conversation with them about specific actions in response. Every Child Matters.

Scripture for this week: Exodus 12:1-14; Psalm 149; Romans 13:8-14; Matthew 18:15-20

Scripture to ponder: Matthew 18:20 – When two or three are gathered in my name, I am there.

PrayerLoving God, parent of us all, please bless all our precious children as they start their school year. May they never lose their excitement or enthusiasm for learning. May the spark of creativity, possibility and adventure remain strong in them. Keep them safe from all harm, words and actions that hurt. May all who encounter them show respect and kindness, and may they be loving, kind and respectful. Bless them and help them to shine, and may this be true for all kids. Amen
