Meeting ID: 879 4178 5484 Passcode: 842153

If you are worshipping via Zoom, please note that Holy Eucharist will be celebrated. If you wish to participate, please prepare a small amount of bread & juice (or whatever is on hand) for your household to consume; you may wish to place a cloth or placemat on your table, with a candle if desired.

There is no recording or Sermon by Phone this week.

Elizabeth is on holidays July 17th to 30th. For pastoral emergencies please call Rev. Paul DuVal (780 870 2059) for July 17-23; and Rev. Caryn Douglas (204 256 7002) for July 24-30.

The family of Norma Daly is celebrating her life on Saturday July 22nd at 1:30pm at Trinity. Everyone is invited to come and share memories and be with family and friends at this celebration.

Sunday July 30th, the worship committee is offering a “Cottage Church” worship for the recorded and in person service at 9:30am. Like being at the cottage, this is a more casual service and we invite you to bring one verse of scripture that speaks to you to share with the group. Maybe that’s a verse from one of the Psalms; perhaps it’s one you’ve kept with you for years; maybe it’s one you’ve discovered recently; or perhaps you’d rather just listen to other people’s offerings. All are welcome! We’ll have coffee and cookies following the service and, like being at the cottage, we invite you to wear your cottage shorts and T-shirts!

Because of Elizabeth’s notice of retirement, Trinity will begin the process of searching for a new minister. The first step is to determine the ministry needs and position description and create profiles of our church, community and finances. We need 3-5 people who would be willing to serve as our Profile team. Here is a link to the handbook for this step in the process: Pastoral Relations: Guidelines for a Community of Faith Profile (united-church.ca) which will give good, comprehensive information for people interested in being a part of this step in the process. The board has asked that folks prayerfully discern if you would like to do this. Please be in touch with Barb Tallman (chair of the board) barbara1tallman@gmail.com and Karen Wall (secretary of the board) kwall@mymts.net  by July 17th if you feel called to participate. Training and assistance from the Region is provided for all steps in this process. Barb Tallman has sent out a letter this week.

Bomber fund raiser: We still need volunteers for the upcoming games: August 24; September 9 and 29 and October 21. If you are able to help, it will be greatly appreciated. We provide all the training and assistance. Please contact Marilyn or Irma or sign up on the sign up sheets in the narthex.

We hold in prayer Connie Fillion‘s grandson, Logan Adair and his family, the people and police services of Fargo, ND as they deal with the loss of one of their own.

We hold in prayer Ethel and their family on the death of Paul Campbell. We will celebrate Paul’s life on August 18th at 11am at Trinity.

We hold in prayer the family and friends of Shaheeda Koning including her dear friend Suni, as we mourn her death.

We hold in prayer Susan and Doug Delaney’s family members Darryl and Diane Knight as they move through health struggles. They are grateful for all our prayers.

With the community of Dauphin, we grieve the loss and trauma of the June 15 bus crash that took the lives of at least 16 people and left many injured, and so many grieving. Our hearts break, and God’s heart breaks. Please pray for the loved ones of the victims, survivors, first responders and medical staff, the communities of Dauphin and Carberry and area, and all affected by this horrible accident near Carberry. May God bless those whose lives have been lost, and may God’s love hold close all who are grieving. May we all be living expressions of God’s love in this time of grief.

We hold in prayer community members and families as we mourn Rebecca Contois, Morgan Harris, Marcedes Myran, and Mashkode Bizhiki’ikwe and all Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

We hold in prayer Lorraine Antosh as she is in hospital.

We continue to hold the people of James Smith Cree Nation and the nearby village of Weldon, Saskatchewan in our prayers.

Upon hearing the preliminary research findings on deaths and unmarked graves at the Alberni residential institution, The United Church of Canada, both regionally and nationally, hears the Tseshaht First Nation’s specific Calls for Truth and Justice directed to us, and commits to continued conversation with them about specific actions in response. Every Child Matters.

Trinity’s Outreach committee would like to share the following information:

The chairpersons of Prairie to Pine Regional Council of the United Church of Canada have expressed their dismay and anger with the decision not to search the Winnipeg landfills for the bodies of murder victims, Morgan Harris and Marcedes Myran. Failing to search for their bodies sends a strong and disturbing message that their lives are not valued as Indigenous people or as women. This decision is causing immense harm and undermines any real efforts toward  reconciliation and meaningful partnerships between the government and First Nations.

As members of the United Church we are called upon to act on our responsibility for reconciliation by raising our concerns with Winnipeg councillors and your MLA. A short email or phone call with a very direct request is best.

We are grateful to Terry and Nancy DeLong and Sandi and Glen Fitzmaurice for cashiering this Sunday.
