Moment for Tuesday December 6, 2022

Here is the link for the Tuesday moment:

Please hold in prayer Hatigje Hasani and her family as Hatigje undergoes treatment for end-stage cancer. You may remember Hatigje and her husband Ali as refugees from Kosovo who came to Canada in 1999. At that time, they received some support from Trinity members as they made a new life in Canada. Both Ali and Hatigje worked as caretakers at Trinity several years ago.

We hold in prayer those who have been devastated by Hurricane Fiona, including the people in the Maritimes.

We hold in prayer Lorraine Antosh as she is in hospital.

We continue to hold the people of James Smith Cree Nation and the nearby village of Weldon, Saskatchewan in our prayers.

Did you know? Trinity gave 60 gold chairs and 40 wooden ones to the people of the Baps Mandir (Hindu temple) on Red River Dr. This will help them with their ministry in their new building.

Please consider a “Christmas gift” to Trinity this year.

After a two-year COVID hiatus, Trinity is re-instituting its Christmas Stars Campaign. As you will recall, the campaign involves the “purchase” of a star containing a message from you in honour of the Christmas season. The stars are commonly chosen to remember a loved one who has passed away, to celebrate an achievement, to honour an event, anniversary and the like. There is no set purchase price.  The amount of your donation for a star is your personal choice. The stars will be hung in the church over the Christmas season for all to see. You can get a star in the following two ways:

1.  Karen Wall will be in the narthex of the church before and after services on December 11th to receive your star request and donation.

If you are unable to attend any of those services and wish to get a star, please e-mail Karen Wall at: or call her on her cell phone at: 204-797-1732 or her land line at: 204-269-5550 and she will make the arrangements with you.

Christmas eve: we are planning an online and in person worship for Saturday December 24th and looking for folks to take part. Are you feeling like Mary or Joseph this year? Is your inner shepherd or wise one itching to burst forth in worship? Is there an angel anywhere in the Trinity congregation? Would you like to light the Christ candle with your family this year? Each part requires only a few lines to become familiar with (no memorizing needed) and you will be part of telling the familiar story in a new way. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate and be part of Christmas eve this year. Please be in touch with Elizabeth by email ( or call the office (204 269 1632)

The Stewardship Committee sent out an email last week with some important information about a “Christmas Gift for Trinity”. Please contact the office if you’d like a 3/4 statement of your donations for this year.

We are grateful to Ed and Isabel Tymofichuk and Ken and Elaine Johnson for cashiering this Sunday.

Scriptures for Sunday; Isaiah 35:1-10; Luke 1:47-55; James 5:7-10; Matthew 11:2-11

Scripture to ponder: Luke 1:47: my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked with favour on the lowly state of his servant.  Surely from now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.

PrayerCreator God, may we notice signs of hope, peace and joy present in our everyday lives in the week ahead.  Amen
