Moment for Tuesday September 20 2022

The Tuesday moment video can be found here: https://youtu.be/-xeKI_P-TcU

We hold Meryle and Ben Berg’s sister Susan in our prayers as she journeys through cancer and is in hospice.

We hold in prayer the family of Alice Allen on her death. We will post details about her service in the next little while.

We hold in prayer Hilda Muir and her family on the death of Bill on Saturday. A link for the service will be sent in the next little while and please be in touch with Elizabeth if you’d like to access it.

We hold in prayer Lorraine Antosh as she is in hospital.

The people of The United Church of Canada express our profound grief at the tragic events in James Smith Cree Nation and the nearby village of Weldon, Saskatchewan. Moderator Carmen Lansdowne, expressed her pain on hearing of these attacks and committed her ongoing prayers for “the families of the victims, and survivors as they deal with the resulting trauma.” Read the full news story.

DID YOU KNOW??

The Trinity Youth Group met on Sunday at the church last Sunday for their annual ladder ball game and the parents won! They enjoyed pizza after!

On Friday, September 16, Trinity’s Garden Committee celebrated the fall harvest with our gardeners. With approximately 125 persons (about half were children) in the Lower Hall due to the rainy conditions outside, there was a buzz of excitement as all participated in a meal of hot dogs, chips, veggies, and drinks.  Tim Horton’s donation of hot chocolate and timbits was very much appreciated. The children enjoyed a craft table and games. Gratitude was expressed by many of the gardeners for the opportunity that they have to be a part of Trinity’s Community Garden. Besides growing their own vegetables, the garden provides them with a purpose and means of being part of the community.

Next Sunday, September 25th, we honour Orange Shirt Day/Day of Truth and Reconciliation at Trinity’s worship service. Wear your orange shirt to remember and honour the children who attended residential schools and we’ll take a group picture to send to the United Church of Canada to show our support.

United Church of Canada event:

Prayer: Holy God, you know our hearts, minds, and bodies. We are created by and loved by you. When we need help, as our ancestors did, you are there. When we celebrate, you are there. And at all times in between, you are there and we are grateful. Amen.
