Moment for Tuesday June 21, 2022

A video from Paul for the moment: https://youtu.be/GzXFPHmnc8g

Rev. Paul DuVal will be working 10 hours a week at Trinity while Elizabeth is away on sabbatical. Paul’s contact information is: email: paulduval.tuc@mymts.net  or cell phone 204-232-2632 (text or call)

A big thank you to David Tafelmeyer from the Church of the Good Shepherd Anglican (GSA) for his artistic banner creations which were hung in front of the pulpit and in front of the GSA piano for the month of June during PRIDE month. David offers this explanation of the design (adapted from: ReadersDigest.com): There are many different ‘Pride’ flags. The design that David recreated is called the ‘Progress Flag’. The ‘Traditional Gay Pride” flag is the six-coloured rainbow design representing togetherness, because LGBTQ2 people come together in all races. ages, and genders, and rainbows are both natural and beautiful. Each colour has meaning: Red is Life, Orange is Healing, Yellow is Sunlight, Green is Nature, Blue for Harmony, and Purple for Spirit. The white, pink and light blue chevron design on the Progress Pride Flag reflects the colours of the Transgender Flag, while brown and black stripes represent marginalized people of colour. The black stripe also honours those lost to HIV/AIDS and is a nod to the stigma surrounding those still living with HIV.

The worship committee has arranged a variety of exciting worship leaders for May, June and July while Elizabeth is away on sabbatical leave. You’ll be hearing from new voices and familiar ones and we invite you watch these emails for details; you won’t want to miss a single Sunday!

On June 26, the Outreach Committee will bring a message from the gardeners.

We have in person worship every Sunday at 10:45 AM until the end of June; please bring your QR code and wear a mask. Recorded worship and sermon by phone will continue and all services will be the same. For July and August we will do joint services with Church of the Good Shepherd Anglican (GSA) as we have done in the past. Summer services will start at 9:30 a.m. The summer schedule is included below:

July 3 –  GSA

July 10 – TUC

July 17 – GSA

July 24 – TUC

July 31 – GSA

August 7 – TUC

August 14 – GSA

August 21 –TUC

August 28 – GSA

September 4 – TUC

All services will be in person. TUC will continue to also record worship and send out the you tube link to both TUC and GSA. GSA will offer services on Zoom – the service will only be available on Zoom at the time of the service. The link will be sent in the regular Thursday worship email but will not be active until Sunday just before the 9:30 service. If attending in person please remember to bring you vaccination card. GSA offers Eucharist/Communion in all their services. You are encouraged to “prepare you own table” at home with bread, juice, perhaps a candle if desired to make a sacred place. You are encouraged to visit outside following the service. The GSA services will not be available through Sermon by phone.

Sermon by phone: Listen to the recording of Sunday worship by calling a local phone number (204 410 1384); please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording will be available each week on Friday and will be available until the following Friday. Over the summer, Sermon by phone will only be available for the services offered by TUC.

Please hold in your prayers Terry DeLong’s long time friend, Robert DeFoy who has stage 4 cancer and Nancy DeLong’s nephew’s wife Kate Peters who also has stage 4 cancer.

Thank you for all who volunteered for the bomber game on June 10, 2022. We have enough volunteers for June 24. We are still looking for volunteers for July 15, August 25, September 10 and 30 and October 8 and 28.

The Fellowship Committee is looking for a volunteer coordinator for funeral luncheons. The coordinator will: communicate with family to decide on the type of lunch they wish to have served and the costs involved (options are in the brochure); call upon volunteers (from list provided) to help set up before hand, serve during, and clean up following the luncheon; order and arrange for the food to be brought to the church; submit all bills to the office for reimbursement and notify the office of the cost to the family for invoicing. Please call the office or be in touch with Ruth Graham (204-269-0274 – you can leave a message) or Irma if you are interested.
