Worship email for May 22, 2022

Here is the link for Worship for May 22, 2022:  https://youtu.be/nXU-ugg9I6w

Rev. Paul DuVal will be working 10 hours a week at Trinity while Elizabeth is away on sabbatical. Paul’s contact information is: email: paulduval.tuc@mymts.net or cell phone 204-232-2632 (text or call). For the long weekend, from May 20 to 23, Rev Phil Read from St. Mary’s Road United Church is available for pastoral emergencies. His emergency contact information is 204-999-2732.

The Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving that was held at Trinity for Jack Cahoon is now available on the Trinity website: https://trinityunitedwinnipeg.com/ Scroll down until you see it.

The worship committee has arranged a variety of exciting worship leaders for May, June and July while Elizabeth is away on sabbatical leave. You’ll be hearing from new voices and familiar ones and we invite you to watch these emails for details; you won’t want to miss a single Sunday!

For May 22, 2022  there will be a video presentation on looking back at recorded worship since the beginning of COVID.

We have in person worship every Sunday at 10:45am; please bring your QR code and wear a mask. Recorded worship and Sermon by phone will continue and all services will be the same.

Sermon by Phone: Listen to the recording of Sunday worship each week by calling a local phone number (204 410 1384); please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording is uploaded each week on Friday and will be available until the following Thursday.

The Fellowship Committee is looking for a volunteer coordinator for funeral luncheons. The coordinator will: communicate with the family to decide on the type of lunch they wish to have served and the costs involved; call upon volunteers (from list provided) to help set up before hand, serve during, and clean up following the luncheon; order and arrange for the food to be brought to the church; submit all bills to the office for reimbursement of money spent and notify the office of the cost to the family for invoicing.  Please call the office or be in touch with Ruth Graham (204-253-0274 – you can leave a message) or Irma if you are interested.

From Caring Connections: It’s spring! How about connecting with one of your friends in the Trinity congregation to say hello and share updates. Hearing from a friend can be so uplifting. It’s been a challenge keeping up those contacts with Trinity friends during this time of what seems like endless restrictions during these past 2 years. A very big thank you to all who have been phoning and sending cards to folks who might be feeling isolated during this time. This is such an important part of the life of the church. We also want to let you know that Rev Paul DuVal is available for pastoral care. If you become aware of folks who may be in need of a pastoral connection please contact the Trinity office at 204-269-1632 / tuc@mymts.net with attention to Irma or Paul.

A big Thank you to all who helped with spring clean up on May 14.

One Can, Two Can, Who Can? You Can!

Let’s spring into action this May by supporting West Broadway Community Ministry.  Lynda Trono, Minister for WBCM, will be giving the message at our May 29 church service. We want to send her back with a carload of food for their emergency food kits. WBCM supports both families and single persons with food in emergency situations.  For this particular food blitz, we are asking for donations of canned vegetables, soups, meat, fish, and cereal.  Remember these items are being take home, so bulk items are not required.  The Outreach Committee collects items regularly (and will continue to do so)  but for the month of May we want to fill their emergency cupboards! Please drop off any donations in the grocery cart in the narthex. Thanks for your continued support this spring. (see picture in attachments)

Bomber fund raiser starts with a pre season game on May 27. We have enough volunteers for the May 27 game! Thank you to all who signed up. Please check your emails for all the game dates and if you haven’t already done so, please let Irma and Marilyn know which games you are able to work or get in touch with them if you have any questions.

Thank you to everyone who gave a special Easter gift to Trinity in response to the letter from the Stewardship Committee and a reminder that you can give as you are able to this special appeal.
