Moment for Trinity – Tuesday March 22, 2022

Here is the video for the Trinity moment for this week: https://youtu.be/tBzFIq-ua9o

We have in person worship every Sunday at 10:45am; please bring your QR code and wear a mask. Recorded worship and Sermon by phone will continue as normal and all services will be the same. Call up your friends and let them know! Full details of the new guidelines are at the end of this email.

We hold in our prayers the people of the Ukraine and other Eastern European countries as they face the invasion of their country by Russia. If you’d like to donate through the United Church, please go to this page: https://united-church.ca/social-action/act-now/conflict-ukraine  for information about what they are doing and how to donate.

Canada Foodgrains Bank is also accepting donations at: https://foodgrainsbank.ca/donate/ukraine/?segmentCode=HCUKRAINEEMAILA21&utm_source=Canadian+Foodgrains+Bank&utm_campaign=9df28eda07-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_03_01_03_50&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_12074062ea-9df28eda07-443062816  Thank you.

Trinity has sent a letter of support to local Ukrainian churches reminding them we are with them and praying for the people of Ukraine.

FAQ about Sabbaticals: Who will be leading worship while Elizabeth is away on sabbatical? The Sabbatical Advisory Group (SAG) and the Worship Committee assure us that many folks will help us with worship. They see it as an opportunity to hear from other voices, experience different kinds of worship, and to ponder the question “what does the church mean to you?” Some committees and groups, some familiar faces from our congregation, and some new people will all take a Sunday during this time and bring us meaningful, participatory worship for all of us.

Scripture to ponder for the week: Jeremiah 17:7-8: Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream. It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green; in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit.

The story of the prodigal son has many layers. There are many ways you can hear it; from the perspective of the father, the prodigal son, the older sibling, the community?
