Moment for Trinity – Tuesday March 15, 2022

Here is the video for the Trinity moment for this week:

We have in person worship beginning this week, Sunday March 20 at 10:45am; please bring your QR code and wear a mask. Recorded worship and Sermon by phone will continue as normal and all services will be the same. Call up your friends and let them know! Full details of the new guidelines are at the end of this email.

We hold in our prayers Alice Allen as she recovers in hospital after a fall.

We hold in our prayers the people of the Ukraine and other Eastern European countries as they face the invasion of their country by Russia. If you’d like to donate through the United Church, please go to this page:  for information about what they are doing and how to donate.

Canada Foodgrains Bank is also accepting donations at:  Thank you.

Trinity has sent a letter of support to local Ukrainian churches reminding them we are with them and praying for the people of Ukraine.

This Sunday March 20th at 1pm as part of our Lenten journey, and our path towards reconciliation with our Indigenous sisters and brothers, the Christian Education Committee is offering a workshop “Our Journey as an Indigenous People” led by Gloria Cook, from the Indigenous Ministries and Justice Unit. This workshop is based on the Medicine Wheel and helps us to understand better this journey. We’ll meet on Zoom, watch and listen to the presentation, followed by discussion. This workshop was offered at the Region Annual meeting last year. here is the link:

Each Sunday during Lent, we’ll be learning some Cree words and phrases; the vocabulary and pronunciation guide for the first two lessons is included here

FAQ about Sabbaticals: Who will be leading worship while Elizabeth is away on sabbatical? The Sabbatical Advisory Group (SAG) and the Worship Committee assure us that many folks will help us with worship. They see it as an opportunity to hear from other voices, experience different kinds of worship, and to ponder the question “what does the church mean to you?” Some committees and groups, some familiar faces from our congregation, and some new people will all take a Sunday during this time and bring us meaningful, participatory worship for all of us.

Scripture to ponder for the week: Romans 8:28: Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

Scripture for March 20, 2022Isaiah 55:1-9; Psalm 63:1-8; I Corinthians 10:1-13; Luke 13:1-9

the writer reminds us of God’s abundant love, acceptance and care. As we move through Lent, what opportunities are there to hear God’s voice calling us to reflect and respond?
