We hold in our prayers Marguerite and we’re grateful she has angels with her.
We hold in our prayers the people of Ukraine and other Eastern European countries as they face an uncertain future as their country is invaded by Russia.
Prayer by the Moderator: King of Heaven, Comforter, Soul of Truth, who is everywhere and fills everything; treasure of goodness and life itself; come and live in us, cleanse us from all sin, and save our souls. We have seen the one light, we have received the Spirit of heaven, we have found the faith, we worship the undividable Trinity, for it has saved us. And his words: God – Creator, Christ, and Holy Spirit – Trinity Divine, hear the words of my soul. Peace. Peace! Peace in the Ukraine. Peace in Russia. Peace in the hearts of all who manoeuvre for war. Peace for the children. Peace for those of many years. Peace, my God, peace, peace, peace for the world, I pray. Help us to pull back from the games, greeds, and fears, that lead us to brinkmanship – to, at best, a place of chaos; or, so much worse, to war’s atrocities. Peace, I pray. Peace for all your children, the world around. Amen

FAQ about Sabbaticals: What do people do when they are on sabbatical? The answer is as varied as the individual! Some take time to study on their own or by taking courses; some take time to listen to others in their field and their learnings; some take time to read and discuss new ideas; some take time to explore what others are doing. The common element is that a person on sabbatical “takes time” away from their regular work to learn, grow, and listen. In the United Church, a sabbatical is also rooted in the biblical stories of Jesus, is about listening for and experiencing God, and following that amazing spirit in our lives.
