FAQ about Sabbaticals: What is a Sabbatical? The United Church provides for a 3 month sabbatical to all ministry personnel who have served 5 years in one pastoral charge. It is paid time away to renew, rest, recreate, learn and grow. A plan is developed and a report given on return. The ministry personnel must stay for at least one year after a sabbatical.
Scripture to ponder for the week: Psalm 92: It is wonderful to be grateful and to sing your praises, Lord Most High! It is wonderful each morning to tell about your love and at night to announce how faithful you are. I enjoy praising your name to the music of harps, because everything you do makes me happy, and I sing joyful songs.
Scripture for February 28, 2022: Exodus 34:29-35; Psalm 99; 2 Corinthians 3:12-4:2; Luke 9:28-36
On this last Sunday in the season after the Epiphany we are reminded we are not alone, we are chosen, and called to listen for God’s voice, for God’s call in our lives. Have you encountered God in foggy, confusing times? When have you seen the light of God shining through a friend, an experience, or an event?
