Worship for Sunday September 19, 2021

Following a meeting on September 8th, the Board prayerfully decided to begin in person, indoor service at Trinity every second Sunday; the next in person, indoor worship is September 26th.This motion was passed:

In-person, indoor worship must ensure: Contact tracing information gathered; COVID screening questions asked; Mandatory masking; Hand sanitizer use; Social distancing between families and individuals; No singing during service; Main floor sanitized following service;

For the safety and health of all people attending in-person indoor worship at Trinity United Church, Trinity United Church strongly advises that everyone attending in-person indoor worship be fully vaccinated. We cannot guarantee you will not contract COVID while attending worship.

If you are unable to attend in-person indoor worship, Trinity United Church continues to offer weekly You tube services; Sunday School kits for at-home Sunday School; monthly Zoom gatherings for senior Sunday School/Youth Group, as well as weekly/monthly programs such as walking group, Yoga and Bible Study.

IMPORTANT PROVISO: The above Motion must be in full compliance with current and future provincial Public Health Orders.

According to the current Manitoba Public Health Orders we can have 150 people on the main floor. Volunteers will be available to help you at 10:15 am (asking COVID questions, contact tracing, hand sanitizing, ushering, etc.). Check out our great new carpeting in the Sanctuary.

We hold Ben and Meryle Berg in our prayers on the death of Ben’s brother, John.

A message from the Moderator Richard Bott:
Just a quick reminder: The church is never closed. Buildings may be locked. The livestream may be down. But, where there is a follower of Jesus, doing their best (or, for that matter, not really trying at all!) there is church.So, church… go! Go be deep in the Spirit! Go be bold in your discipleship! Go be daring in your work for justice!Be salt. Be seed. Be life, abundant. The church is *never* closed.So… let’s go!

Are you looking for an orange shirt to wear for Orange Shirt day? the Teekca Aboriginal Boutique, 1654 Matthews Ave (also at the Forks Market), has many options. T-shirts are $20. Check out the selection at: or check out their store at the Forks or in St. Vital
Or visit the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation at UofM:

On September 30, people all across Canada will wear orange shirts to remember and honour Indigenous children who were taken from their communities and families to residential schools. This Orange Shirt Day is also the first observance of a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. For settler Christians in particular, this is a time when we can reflect on our role in colonialism and the residential school system, and our ongoing responsibility to make reparations. More information is coming and you can click on the United Church link for ideas.
Indigenous Ministries and Justice at The United Church of Canada encourages everyone to participate in Orange Shirt Day!

A reminder that we continue to collect fruit, granola bars and juice boxes that are delivered to West Broadway Community Ministry. The cart is outside for donations Sunday to Friday mornings from 9-1pm. Call the church at 204-269-1632 to arrange alternate times to drop off donations.

We are looking for someone to help out with the payroll duties for Trinity. Everything is now online and tasks are twice a month. Please be in touch with Gerta or the office if you would like to help out or know someone who has these skills or might want to learn.

Sermon by phone: Listen to the recording of Sunday worship each week by calling a local phone number (204-410-1384). Please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording is uploaded on Thursdays and is available until the following Wednesday.

Know that we are praying for each one of you as you find your way through this time. If you have comments, suggestions, or any thoughts about worship or how you’re doing, please be in touch. Trinity is here for you and we will respond. May you know God’s presence and peace with you as we continue to move through this new reality,
