Moment for Trinity – Tuesday July 27, 2021

Here is the video for the Trinity moment for this week: https://youtu.be/uztZqoZDElE

Trinity needs your help! Fatimata, one of the people who works at West Broadway is returning home to Senegal for a visit and wants to fill her suitcases with items of need. Please consider giving: Generic medicines (for headaches, stomach aches, diarrhea, aches); first aid care such as bandages, wound sanitizers, hand sanitizers, etc.; toiletries such as tooth brushes and tooth paste, shampoo, bath get, sanitary napkins, etc.; and children’s backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, etc. If you’d like to give financially, please place cash in an envelope and they will purchase any supplies necessary; unfortunately, there are no tax receipts. This is an opportunity to help out with our global community; sharing God’s love with neighbours near and far! Please have your donations in by Sunday August 1st. Thank you.

Bomber parking and crosswalks: a huge thank you to all who have volunteered to help out at the Bomber games for the new season! We have our minimum number for most games and many games have more! We still need three more people for August 13 and November 6th, and if you’d like to volunteer, please be in touch with Irma or Marilyn. This will continue to be a successful fundraiser!
Shared Summer Worship Services: Trinity has joined with Westminster, Spirit Path, Transcona Memorial and UC in Meadowood to offer shared worship for the summer months (from now until August 22nd). Each week will be led by a different church with other churches participating. The link to the service will be sent out on Thursday in the regular email; each service will be uploaded to “Sermon by Phone”; and will be available in the regular way we access online worship. We hope you join with your friends to worship in the Shared Summer Worship Services!
Scripture for Sunday August 1, 2021: 2Samuel 11:26-12:13a; Psalm 51:1-12; Ephesians 4:1-16; John 6:24-35.

A reminder that we continue to collect fruit, granola bars and juice boxes that are delivered to West Broadway Community Ministry. The cart is outside for donations on Sunday mornings from 9-11am. Call the church at 204-269-1632 to arrange alternate times to drop off donations.

We are looking for someone to help out with the payroll duties for Trinity. Everything is now online and tasks are twice a month. Please be in touch with Gerta or the office if you would like to help out or know someone who has these skills or might want to learn.
All of our programs (except the Walkers) are taking a break so everyone can enjoy being outside (and not at our computers!) and will resume in the fall.
Trinity Walkers:  All walks, either Tuesday or Thursday start at 9:30 AM. July 29 Forty Whyte. I will park on Sigma Ave. near Front St. This is south of McGillivray Blvd near the south  entrance of Fort Whyte

Sermon by Phone: Listen to the recording of Sunday worship each week by calling a local phone number (204 410 1384); please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording is uploaded each week on Thursday and will be available until the following Wednesday.

Scripture to ponder for the week: Psalm 78:1-2:  My friends, I beg you to listen as I teach. I will give instruction and explain the mystery of what happened long ago. These are things we learned from our ancestors, and we will tell them to the next generation. We won’t keep secret the glorious deeds and the mighty miracles of the Lord.

Prayer: Holy, creating God, on these very warm days, may we know your spirit blowing through our lives as a cool breeze; may the shade of the tree bring us relief as we ponder our faith, may we be reminded of your presence in all we do. Amen.
Know that we are praying for each one of you as you find your way through this time. If you have comments, suggestions, or any thoughts about worship or how you’re doing, please be in touch. Trinity is here for you and we will respond. May you know God’s presence and peace with you as we continue to move through this new reality,Elizabeth
Following a meeting on June 29, the co-chairs of the Board sent a letter to the congregation regarding the Province of Manitoba going into “Code Orange”. From the Executive: “The consensus was that these changes are not significant enough to warrant opening up our church for indoor or outdoor services, at this time…Your health and safety are our top priority and we are not willing to jeopardize that…We look forward to the virtual Services that will be provided by Trinity, in association with Westminster, Spirit Path, Transcona Memorial and UC in Meadowood…We will wait and see what any new announcements from the Province may bring…”
