We hold Debbie Spindler and her family in our prayers on the death of her brother, David, in Montreal; we pray for them as they travel to Montreal.

We hold Bev and Bernie Wiens and their family in our prayers as Bev began Chemotherapy last week.

Trinity needs your help! Fatimata, one of the people who works at West Broadway is returning home to Senegal for a visit and wants to fill her suitcases with items of need. Please consider giving: Generic medicines (for headaches, stomach aches, diarrhea, aches); first aid care such as bandages, wound sanitizers, hand sanitizers, etc.; toiletries such as tooth brushes and tooth paste, shampoo, bath get, sanitary napkins, etc.; and children’s backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, etc. If you’d like to give financially, please place cash in an envelope and they will purchase any supplies necessary; unfortunately, there are no tax receipts. This is an opportunity to help out with our global community; sharing God’s love with neighbours near and far! Please have your donations in by Sunday August 1st. Thank you.

We continue to collect fruit, granola bars and juice boxes for West Broadway Ministry. The cart is typically outside form 9-11 on Sunday for donations. Or call the church at 204-269-1632 (leave a message) to arrange alternate times to drop off donations.

Many of our programs are taking a break so everyone can enjoy being outside (and not at our computers!) and will resume in the fall.

Holy Yoga: (on Zoom) Saturdays at 10-11am; followed by coffee, if you wish to stay on. Last one July 24 as there is no Yoga in August.

Trinity Walkers: A message from Maryann: Hello fellow walkers. With the temperatures we have been experiencing, the walks I plan will not put us into blazing sun for most of the walk and we will start walking before the temperature is above 27C. All walks, either Tuesday or Thursday start at 9:30 AM. I encourage you to come prepared with water and some sun protection if you require it. Our pace may be a little slower and or we may sometimes stop along the way to enjoy the sights, sounds and each others company. Next week July 20 & 22, we’ll walk Assinboine Forest, My plan it to walk around the pond and or the Aspen Forest trail. Parking is at the corner of Chalfont and Grant.

We are looking for someone to help out with the payroll duties for Trinity. Everything is now online and tasks are twice a month. Please be in touch with Gerta or the office if you would like to help out or know someone who has these skills or might want to learn.

Shared Summer Worship Services
Trinity has joined with Westminster, Spirit Path, Transcona Memorial United Churches and United Church in Meadowood to offer shared worship for the summer months (from now until August 22nd). Each week will be led by a different church with other churches participating. The link to the service will be sent out on Thursday in the regular email; each service will be uploaded to “Sermon by Phone”, and will be available in the regular way we access online worship. We hope you join with your friends to worship in the Shared Summer Worship Services!

Sermon by phone: Listen to the recording of Sunday worship each week by calling a local phone number (204-410-1384). Please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording is uploaded on Thursdays and is available until the following Wednesday.

Bomber parking and crosswalks: a huge thank you to all who have volunteered to help out at the Bomber games for the new season! We have our minimum number for most games and many games have more! We still need one more person for August 13th and three more people for November 6th. If you’d like to volunteer, please be in touch with Irma or Marilyn. This will continue to be a successful fundraiser!

Know that we are praying for each one of you as you find your way through this time. If you have comments, suggestions, or any thoughts about worship or how you’re doing, please be in touch. Trinity is here for you and we will respond. May you know God’s presence and peace with you as we continue to move through this new reality,

Elizabeth

Following a meeting on June 29, the co-chairs of the Board sent a letter to the congregation regarding the Province of Manitoba going into “Code Orange”. From the Executive: “The consensus was that these changes are not significant enough to warrant opening up our church for indoor or outdoor services, at this time…Your health and safety are our top priority and we are not willing to jeopardize that…We look forward to the virtual Services that will be provided by Trinity, in association with Westminster, Spirit Path, Transcona Memorial and UC in Meadowood…We will wait and see what any new announcements from the Province may bring…”
