Worship for Sunday July 11, 2021

Following a meeting on June 29, the co-chairs of the Board sent a letter to the congregation regarding the Province of Manitoba going into “Code Orange”. From the Executive: “The consensus was that these changes are not significant enough to warrant opening up our church for indoor or outdoor services, at this time…Your health and safety are our top priority and we are not willing to jeopardize that…We look forward to the virtual Services that will be provided by Trinity, in association with Westminster, Spirit Path, Transcona Memorial and UC in Meadowood…We will wait and see what any new announcements from the Province may bring…”

Here is the information for the worship service for Sunday July 11, 2021: Everything is available as of today.

Shared worship hosted by TMUC

Welcome to the second Sunday of summer online worship shared by The United Church of Canada faith communities of Spirit Path, The United Church in Meadowood, Transcona Memorial, Trinity and Westminster United Churches. During this COVID time, we have all found new, innovative and creative ways to continue worshipping online when we could not gather in-person due to health regulations. One of the fun aspects of this summer’s shared worship, is that people of the varying faith communities get to experience the worship styles and formats that have been used by the other communities. People have received Transcona Memorial’s online weekly worship via a Friday email. The email sometimes contains congregational updates, and then the worship section. The worship consists of print sections for people to read as well as several links to YouTube postings of music, reflections and Esther and Emmett – TMUC’s puppet ministry.  So today we welcome everyone to share in TMUC’s online worship experience.

You can access it through various links for music, scripture, prayers and reflection further down the page (see Printed Worship) OR you can go directly to Transcona Memorial website, and click on Worship Online and “Church at Home” found here: https://tmuc.ca/   Everything is available now.

Shared Summer Worship Services
Trinity has joined with Westminster, Spirit Path, Transcona Memorial United Churches and United Church in Meadowood to offer shared worship for the summer months (from now until August 22nd). Each week will be led by a different church with other churches participating. The link to the service will be sent out on Thursday in the regular email; each service will be uploaded to “Sermon by Phone”, and will be available in the regular way we access online worship. We hope you join with your friends to worship in the Shared Summer Worship Services!

Sermon by phone: Listen to the recording of Sunday worship each week by calling a local phone number (204-410-1384). Please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording is uploaded on Thursdays and is available until the following Wednesday.

We are saddened to hear of the death of longstanding Trinity friend to many, Grant White, on July 6 in Thunder Bay, at age 93. He was lovingly surrounded by his son and family, his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, whom we hold in prayerful love and care.

We are looking for someone to help out with the payroll duties for Trinity. Everything is now online and tasks are twice a month. Please be in touch with Gerta or the office if you would like to help out or know someone who has these skills or might want to learn.

Bomber parking and crosswalks: a huge thank you to all who have volunteered to help out at the Bomber games for the new season! We have our minimum number for most games and many games have more! If you’d like to volunteer, please be in touch with Irma or Marilyn. This will continue to be a successful fundraiser!
We continue to collect fruit, granola bars and juice boxes for West Broadway Ministry. The cart is typically outside form 9-11 on Sunday for donations. Or call the church at 204-269-1632 (leave a message) to arrange alternate times to drop off donations.

Many of our programs are taking a break so everyone can enjoy being outside (and not at our computers!) and will resume in the fall.

Holy Yoga: (on Zoom) Saturdays at 10-11am; followed by coffee, if you wish to stay on.

Trinity Walkers: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30am (to beat the heat). A message from Maryann: “On July 13 and 15 we will walk in Lindenwoods – park in visitor parking at my condo. If you wish to add your name to the email list or have questions please email or call the church office (leave a message)…let’s get walking.”

Know that we are praying for each one of you as you find your way through this time. If you have comments, suggestions, or any thoughts about worship or how you’re doing, please be in touch. Trinity is here for you and we will respond.

May you know God’s presence and peace with you as we continue to move through this new reality,
