Following a meeting on June 29, the co-chairs of the Board sent a letter to the congregation regarding the Province of Manitoba going into “Code Orange”. From the Executive: “The consensus was that these changes are not significant enough to warrant opening up our Church for indoor or outdoor services, at this time…Your health and safety are our top priority and we are not willing to jeopardize that…We look forward to the 8 virtual Services that will be provided by Trinity, in association with Westminster, Spirit Path, Transcona Memorial and UC in Meadowood…We will wait to see what any new announcements from the Province may bring…”
Here is Harry’s interview with Maryann Koop: https://youtu.be/RSWBo9Xqjf0
Maryann leads a recreational and social walking group. She discusses the genesis of the group, the means of joining and the significance of walking as a recreational and social activity. Attached are some pictures taken along the way.

Shared Summer Worship Services: Trinity has joined with Westminster, Spirit Path, Transcona Memorial and UC in Meadowood to offer shared worship for the summer months (from now until August 22nd). Each week will be led by a different church. The link to the service will be sent out on Thursday in the regular email; each service will be uploaded to “Sermon by Phone”; and will be available in the regular way we access online worship. We hope you join with your friends to worship in the Shared Summer Worship Services!
Sermon by Phone: Listen to the recording of Sunday worship each week by calling a local phone number (204 410 1384); please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording is uploaded each week on Thursday and will be available until the following Wednesday.
Scripture to ponder: Mark 4:30-32 He also said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable will we use for it? It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the ground, is the smallest of all seeds on earth, yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”
From Mary Pelton: Manitoba Prairie Quilters has undertaken an initiative to remember the 215 students who were students at the Kamloops Residential School. From now to the end of September we are endeavouring to make 215 baby and/or children’s quilts. These quilts will be distributed in Manitoba through various organizations. If interested in participating or have questions please email Kathy Paul at KathyPaulMPQ@shaw.ca. For patterns and pictures call Mary.
Bomber parking fund raiser is on! The board approved this fund raiser at their June Meeting. An email was sent out to all who have participated in this fund raiser in the past to determine your ability to participate. Thank you to all who have responded. If you are interested in helping with this fund raiser and did not get the email or if you have questions, please call the church (leave a message) or email Marilyn cdmloat@mymts.net and Irma irma.tuc@mymts.net.
A reminder that we continue to collect fruit, granola bars and juice boxes that are delivered to West Broadway Community Ministry. The cart is typically outside for donations on Sunday mornings from 9-11 for donations. Call the church at 204-269-1632 to arrange alternate times to drop off donations.
We are looking for someone to help out with the payroll duties for Trinity. Everything is now online and tasks are twice a month. Please be in touch with Gerta or the office if you would like to help out or know someone who has these skills or might want to learn.
Many of our programs are taking a break so everyone can enjoy being outside (and not at our computers!) and will resume in the fall. The following programs are offered:
Holy Yoga: (offered on Zoom) Saturdays at 10-11am; followed by coffee, if you wish to stay on. Contact Wynn or Irma if you wish to join.
Trinity Walkers: will be on Tuesday and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. (to beat the heat) . A message from Maryann: “As more people get their second vaccine and the restrictions are lessening, are you ready to resume our walking group? This week (July 6 and 8), I plan on walking along the Seine River towards the perimeter. Park at No Frills parking lot (St. Anne’s at Southglen). As always please let me know if you plan on attending. Phone me at 204-801-0055. I don’t want to start walking without you…let’s get walking!”

Prayer: Holy, creating God, in this season of Pentecost we experience your spirit everywhere. In extraordinary and ordinary moments, we know you are active in our world. May we add our actions to yours so that your love may be known everywhere. Amen.
Know that we are praying for each one of you as you find your way through this time. If you have comments, suggestions, or any thoughts about worship or how you’re doing, please be in touch. Trinity is here for you and we will respond.
May you know God’s presence and peace with you as we continue to move through this new reality,
Elizabeth
