Trinity United Worship for March 21, 2021

A number of churches in Manitoba and Winnipeg and some people have recently had their email hacked. The result is that you may receive an email that LOOKS like it’s from someone you know or from Trinity asking for HELP. DO NOT ANSWER OR REPLY to this email. Even if it says it’s from Dallis, Irma, Gerta or Elizabeth or anyone else from the church. Delete the email immediately. It could be a very simple email that says, please help! DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS OR SEND MONEY!You might want to change your password to your email account to be very safe. If you receive an email and are concerned about the person – phone them but DO NOT REPLY TO THE EMAIL.thanks for helping us all to keep safe.

Listen for the “blooper” as I say May but mean March 21 2021 at the beginning of the service!
You may have heard the latest provincial health orders about changing number of people for regular Sunday worship. The Executive met on March 17 and the Board will meet on March 24th to consider these changes and will send out a letter to the congregation once they have made any decisions. Thank you to everyone who offered to help to pack up the sanctuary and office in preparation for the carpet installation! It was a great effort and many hands made this an easier task. Thank you!

Holy Week and Easter Services:
Palm Sunday, March 28th, will be an online Zoom worship that can be accessed by phone or internet; because we can’t distribute live palms, we invite you to create your own palm branch and bring it to the service! The recorded service will still be available as a link and by phone.
Good Friday, April 2nd, we join with the whole United Church of Canada for a recorded service led by the Moderator, the Right Rev. Richard Bott and available throughout the day for you to participate by internet or by phone.
Easter Sunday, April 4th, we celebrate the risen Christ in song, story, drama and reflection in our usual format on the internet or by phone!

Many of our programs continue on zoom by internet connection or by phone: contact Irma or Elizabeth to join in!
Bible Study: Mondays at 7-8pm
Holy Yoga: Saturdays at 10-11am; followed by coffee, if you wish to stay on
SSCFFyoga: Mondays at 3-4pm; exercise: Wednesdays at 10:30-11:30am
Stewardship Committee: March 18 at 7pm
Youth Group: March 21 at 11am, led by Nancy and Terry DeLong
Board: March 24 at 7pm

The carpet has been successfully installed! The Floor Show was great to work with and completed the project in good time; now we’re waiting for the odor of the glue to dissipate so we can replace all the items to their rightful spots. Thanks for all and especially Ed, Irma, Ken, Bill and Bernie who oversaw the project from start to finish! We found a watch (see photo attached) under the organ pedals and if you know who this might belong to, please let us know.

Action Auction is going well and there are many items available for bidding; check out the website, register as a bidder, and pick your favourite items!

The Walking Group has started up again!
It was great seeing those who made it out last week as we walked in King’s Park. Unfortunately that path has some icy patches. The walks that I have planned for this week and next are along paved paths that are totally clear of any icy sections when I last walked them. All walks are planned for Tuesday at 1:30 pm. and Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Phone or email to let me know if you plan on attending. I don’t want to miss anyone.March 23 & 25 we will walk the transit corridor starting near my place and head towards Jubilee. This path was totally clear of any icy sections when I walked it last week. Park in my condo parking lot. As always let me know if you plan on joining me for this walk. Take care everyone and I look forward to walking with you.Maryann

Sermon by Phone: listen to the recording of Sunday worship each week by calling a local phone number (204 410 1384); please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording is uploaded each week on Thursday and will be available until the following Wednesday

Know that we are praying for each one of you as you find your way through this time. If you have comments, suggestions, or any thoughts about worship or how you’re doing, please be in touch. Trinity is here for you and we will respond.
may you know God’s presence and peace with you as we continue to move through this new reality,

Elizabeth

Because of the Provincial Health order moving Manitoba to “Red” and closing all religious buildings, the Executive has postponed in person, indoor worship, and closed the building to all user and church groups; staff will be in for specific tasks but mainly working from home; our non-essential building is limited to 5 people for specific tasks.
