You may have heard the latest provincial health orders about changing number of people for regular Sunday worship. The Executive is meeting on March 17 and the Board on March 24th to consider these changes and will send out a letter to the congregation once they have made any decisions. Because the carpet is being installed March 12-19th and we are out of our building for those days, we’ll have to unpack items after March 22nd, there is no rush at the present time.We are planning Palm Sunday and Easter services and need “voices” for the worship service as readers; if you’d like to add your voice to the worship service, please be in touch with Irma or Elizabeth; if you’ve never done this before, we can help walk you through the process.
Holy Week and Easter Services:Palm Sunday, March 28th, will be an online Zoom worship that can be accessed by phone or internet; because we can’t distribute live palms, we invite you to create your own palm branch and bring it to the service!Good Friday, April 2nd, we join with the whole United Church of Canada for a recorded service led by the Moderator, the Right Rev. Richard Bott; we’ll send out the link and it will be available at midnight and throughout the day; it’s just like connecting for the Trinity service!
Easter Sunday, April 4th, we celebrate the risen Christ in song, story, drama and reflection in our usual way!
Action Auction is off to a great start! There are still a number of items you can bid on. Watch for the email tomorrow! Questions? Call Dale Kendel
The Walking Group has started up again!
It was great seeing those who made it out last week as we walked in King’s Park. Unfortunately that path has some icy patches. The walks that I have planned for this week and next are along paved paths that were just about totally clear of any icy sections when I last walked them. All walks are planned for Tuesday at 1:30 pm. and Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Phone or email to let me know if you plan on attending. I don’t want to miss anyone.March 18th we will walk Lindenwood. When I last walked it on Wednesday there was hardly any icy sections. After the warm temperatures we had on Saturday I think what ice was there should be gone. Park in my visitor parking lot at 873 Waverley St (this is behind the A&W @ Waverley & Sterling Lyon Parkway). Phone me if you plan on attending. (204-801-0055) or have any questions.March 23 & 25 we will walk the transit corridor starting near my place and head towards Jubilee. This path was totally clear of any icy sections when I walked it last week. Park in my condo parking lot. As always let me know if you plan on joining me for this walk. Take care everyone and I look forward to walking with you.Maryann

Thought for the day: Switch. Switch from your thinking mind to your divine heart. You will speak differently and think differently. You will sound different and feel different. Stay in this dimension of your consciousness all day. When you notice you have left your heart behind, gently readjust. Intellect, instinct, and all manner of knowing are best served when filtered through a heart aligned with me. When this is done, wisdom flows. Light shines on all, rendering all holy and blessed. Take on a Christ consciousness. Become a true representation of my love. Switch. Open your divine heart and watch what happens.(p. 9 in Power for Life by David Preston Sharp)
Prayer: Creating God, as the seasons change around us, we are grateful for your spirit with us. We hold you close, in our pocket or heart, and we can be courageous people of God in the world. Amen.
May blessing, peace and the knowledge that we are not alone on this journey; may God be a part of our week as we wander through our challenging days and evenings, knowing the spirit of God is part of all our experiences! May we all remember God in a way that keeps us going and be strong and be kind, loving and compassionate.
Elizabeth
Please note: because of the Provincial Health order, the Executive decided to continue to postpone in person, indoor worship, and close the building to all user and church groups; staff will be in for specific tasks but mainly working from home; all home visits are postponed until further notice. Be safe and be well.
