Trinity United Worship for March 14, 2021

A number of churches in Manitoba and Winnipeg and some people have recently had their email hacked. The result is that you may receive an email that LOOKS like it’s from someone you know or from Trinity asking for HELP. DO NOT ANSWER OR REPLY to this email. Even if it says it’s from Dallis, Irma, Gerta or Elizabeth or anyone else from the church. Delete the email immediately. It could be a very simple email that says, please help! DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS OR SEND MONEY!You might want to change your password to your email account to be very safe. If you receive an email and are concerned about the person – phone them but DO NOT REPLY TO THE EMAIL. Thanks for helping us all to keep safe.

You may have heard the latest provincial health orders about changing number of people for regular Sunday worship. The Executive is meeting on March 17 and the Board on March 24th to consider these changes and will send out a letter to the congregation once they have made any decisions. Because the carpet is being installed March 12-19th and we are out of our building for those days, we’ll have to unpack items after March 22nd, there is no rush at the present time. Thank you to everyone who offered to help to pack up the sanctuary and office in preparation for the carpet installation! It was a great effort and many hands made this an easier task. Thank you!

We are planning Palm Sunday and Easter services and need “voices” for the worship service as readers; if you’d like to add your voice to the worship service, please be in touch with Irma or Elizabeth; if you’ve never done this before, we can help walk you through the process.

Holy Week and Easter Services:
Palm Sunday, March 28th, will be an online Zoom worship that can be accessed by phone or internet; because we can’t distribute live palms, we invite you to create your own palm branch and bring it to the service!
Good Friday, April 2nd, we join with the whole United Church of Canada for a recorded service led by the Moderator, the Right Rev. Richard Bott and available at midnight and throughout the day;
Easter Sunday, April 4th, we celebrate the risen Christ in song, story, drama and reflection!

Many of our programs continue on zoom by internet connection or by phone: contact Irma or Elizabeth to join in!
Bible Study: Mondays at 7-8pm
Holy Yoga: Saturdays at 10-11am; followed by coffee, if you wish to stay on
SSCFFyoga: Mondays at 3-4pm; exercise: Wednesdays at 10:30-11:30am
Executive: March 17 at 7pm
Stewardship Committee: March 18 at 7pm

Because of the Provincial Health order moving Manitoba to “Red” and closing all religious buildings, the Executive has postponed in person, indoor worship, and closed the building to all user and church groups; staff will be in for specific tasks but mainly working from home; our non-essential building is limited to 5 people for specific tasks.
