The season of Lent is coming up quickly and we are looking for families to record the Lenten Candle lighting from their homes. It will be very similar to Advent Candle lighting. If you’d like to take part, please be in touch with Elizabeth or Irma. If you’ve not recorded before, we can help you learn this new skill! Any number of voices can take part (2 to ??) and any age.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and we’re all invited to the Prairie to Pine Region’s Ash Wednesday service on Zoom on August 17th at 7pm. Elizabeth has helped create this service and will be leading part of it along with other United Church folks you may recognize. Please be in touch with Elizabeth if you’d like to participate or go to the prairietopinerc.ca website and search under “Events” to find the link.

The Christian Education Committee is offering a book study during Lent. We’re reading “The Other Side of the River” by Alf Dumont. If you’d like to order the book, please be in touch with Elizabeth by February 21st as we’ll order copies and save on shipping fees. More details to follow.

Many of our programs continue on zoom by internet connection or by phone: contact Irma or Elizabeth to join in!

Here is a free event to help us all learn more about our Affirming journey; offered by Chinook Winds (south Alberta) and Pacific Mountain Region and open to all of us: https://pacificmountain.ca/queer-virtue-lenten-study-series-2-live-author-engagements-5-study-sessions/

Sermon by Phone: listen to the recording of Sunday worship each week by calling a local phone number (204 410 1384); please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording is uploaded each week on Thursday and will be available until the following Wednesday.

Know that we are praying for each one of you as you find your way through this time. If you have comments, suggestions, or any thoughts about worship or how you’re doing, please be in touch. Trinity is here for you and we will respond.

May you know God’s presence and peace with you as we continue to move through this new reality,

Elizabeth

Because of the Provincial Health order moving Manitoba to “Red” and closing all religious buildings, the Executive has postponed in person, indoor worship, and closed the building to all user and church groups; staff will be in for specific tasks but mainly working from home; our non-essential building is limited to 5 people for specific tasks.
