Moment from Trinity for Tuesday, January 19, 2021

Here is the short video from Elizabeth to accompany this message:

How do you mark the beginning of a new year? When you think back over last year, what do you want to hold on to? what do you want to let go of? What would you write about in your annual report?

Here are the readings for this Sunday January 10 2021 and the one we’re focusing on is in bold: Jonah 3:1-5, 10; Psalm 62:5-12; 1 Corinthians 7:29-31; Mark 1:14-20

Do you have any used cross country ski equipment, skates or snowshoes laying around? If so, please consider donating them to our “Winter Equipment” sale. There has been a shortage of used cross country ski equipment(skis, poles and boots), skates and snowshoes in Winnipeg and we figured that our congregation may have some laying around collecting dust. These will be taken as donations and sold, with 100% proceeds going to the church. Please make sure they are in saleable condition(not broken). Any model or size will be accepted(old 3 pin styles are selling as well). If you have anything to donate or any questions, please contact Stephanie Hemlow at Deadline for equipment donations will be Sunday, January 31st. The earlier you can get them in the better as people can start using them for physical and mental wellness. Thank you and keep safe!

The Worship committee is offering the following for our worship:
Sermon by Phone: listen to the recording of Sunday worship each week by calling a local phone number (204 410 1384); please share this information with your friends who don’t have internet access; the recording is uploaded each week on Thursday and will be available until the following Wednesday

Scripture for the day: (Matthew 7:12) “Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behaviour: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God’s Law and Prophets and this is what you get.”

Prayer: Beth and Mary sent this wonderful video prayer:

May blessing, peace and the knowledge that we are not alone on this journey; may God be a part of our week as we wander through our challenging days and evenings, knowing the spirit of God is part of all our experiences! May we all remember God in a way that keeps us going and be strong and be kind, loving and compassionate.

Please note: because of the Provincial Health order on January 8th, the Executive decided to continue to postpone in person, indoor worship, and close the building to all user and church groups; staff will be in for specific tasks but mainly working from home; all home visits are postponed until further notice. Be safe and be well.
