Moment from Trinity for Tuesday January 5, 2021

Here is the short video from Elizabeth to accompany this message: https://youtu.be/Ny8qqzm8zJ8

Here are the readings for this Sunday January 10 2021 and the one we’re focusing on is in bold: Genesis 1:1-5; Psalm 29; Acts 10:1-7; Mark 1:4-11.

We are collecting fruit and granola bars for West Broadway Community Ministry;thank you for the great collections of mitts and hats for the schools; we collected more than 50 items and the donation was much appreciated! Thank you!

The Sew and Sews place mat sale raised just under $900 for 1JustCity! thanks to all who helped out with this project and especially our webmaster!

Mary writes about the quilt attached here:
This is a variation of the real-easy-we’ve-done-it-a-lot pattern using 4 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch rectangles. The idea for this particular setting comes from Connie Kresin Campbell.  She writes an interesting weekly (usually) blog and often has free patterns, in various sizes, using different sizes of blocks.  She often uses the 4 1/2 by 2 1/2 rectangles.  Since I have Iots of those, I really like her patterns!  Some of you may see some familiar fabrics that got cut into rectangles and put into a bag for “future” reference/use, or a “rainy day”.  Well, it’s “raining” now.  I didn’t purchase anything especially for this quilt.  It’s all from the scraps I had on hand.

Many of our programs will begin the first full week of January on zoom: contact Irma or Elizabeth to join in!

Scripture for the day: (Psalm 29:3-4) God thunders across the waters, brilliant, his voice and his face, streaming brightness—God, across the flood waters.God’s thunder tympanic, God’s thunder symphonic.

Prayer for the week: Susan sent this beautiful video with a thoughtful prayer: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/Rtajxo8d7js?rel=0 Amen.

May blessing, peace and the knowledge that we are not alone on this journey; may God be a part of our week as we wander through our challenging days and evenings, knowing the spirit of God is part of all our experiences! May we all remember God in a way that keeps us going and be strong and be kind, loving and compassionate.

Elizabeth

Please note: because of the Provincial Health order on November 10th, the Executive decided to continue to postpone in person, indoor worship, and close the building to all user and church groups; staff will be in for specific tasks but mainly working from home; all home visits are postponed until further notice. Be safe and be well.
