A group of United Church ministers from the south end of Winnipeg are collaborating to offer a series of reflections, “enceinte: united church advent devotions during a pandemic”. Enceinte (/änˈsant/) is an ancient word with two meanings: pregnant, and a protected enclosure (see image attached). As we journey toward the birth of Jesus during these COVID-19 times, the devotions offer a fold in your day to reflect and restore. The daily devotions from Monday to Friday are an opportunity to stop for a few minutes in your day and share in the reflection offered by the leader. Saturday the devotions are longer and meditative in tone and will conclude with communion. If you’d like to receive an email each day (Monday to Saturday) with the reflections, please reply to the office.
Because of the Provincial Health order on November 12th, moving Manitoba to “Red”, the Executive decided to postpone in person, indoor worship, and close the building to all user and church groups; staff will be in for specific tasks but mainly working from home; our non-essential building is limited to 5 people for specific tasks.
