This Week

Trinity United Church Office Hours: Regular office hours Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 1:00pm. The office is closed on Friday and all statutory holidays.

Welcome to Cindy Plessis who will be working as our casual part-time administrative assistant for three days a week, along with Carolyn Pierson and/or Elaine Hansen working one day a week while needed during Dallis Kelly’s absence.

Scripture Readings for the week ending November 17, 2019 – Isaiah 65:17-25; Isaiah 12; 2Thessalonians 3:6-13; Luke 21:5-19. Join us for Bible Study on Monday at 7:15pm and Wednesday at Trinity at 10 a.m.

DID YOU KNOW we raised $1257 for 1JustCity and “Just a Warm Sleep” at the Praise and Worship event on October 25? This will provide five nights of safe, warm, caring space for 25 people this winter! Thank you!

 

Announcements

CHRISTMAS STARS CAMPAIGN 2019 will begin on Sunday, November 10 and end on Sunday, November 24. Karen Wall will be in the Narthex to take your Christmas Star requests before and after services on Sunday, November 10, 17 and 24.The stars will be hung on November 30 at the same time as the church’s Christmas decorations. If you have any questions feel free to call Karen Wall at 204-269-5550 or e-mail her at: kwall@mymts.net.

The Food Bank at Ft. Richmond Baptist Church is once again in need of plastic bags. The regular grocery size and the smaller produce bags are needed immediately. Please place them in the receptacle provided in the narthex.

The Senior Sunday School is looking for facilitators for: Jan 12, Feb 9, March 15, April 5, and April 19. If you have an idea for something the Grade 7-12 youth might be interested in, please contact Angela at 204 897 2253 or awalkden@mymts.net. Thank you

By popular demand, SSCFF is offering a second exercise session starting Thursday November 7 from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Exercise only, no coffee/tea.

We need your help Please sign-up in the narthex (north wall) for Sundays to usher, greet, read scripture, serve communion, and lead the prayers. Thank you for being involved in your church offering your time and talents.

The 2020 Stewardship Campaign ended on Nov 3, but you can always drop off or send in your pledges. Thank you to everyone for helping us determine next year’s budget by submitting your financial commitments for 2020. If you need a copy of the Stewardship package contact the office. Trinity and Good Shepherd Events at Trinity

Not a Bible Study! Written on the Heart: The Bible for Anglicans (& others!) in the 21st Century is an informative national church video featuring interviews with Canadian clergy/theologians on topics of biblical interpretation, context and relevance. 8 – 1 hour sessions with discussion beginning Wed. Sept. 18 from 6:30-7:30pm in the sanctuary 

Just Talk – a conversation class for newcomers and those wanting to improve their speaking and listening skills in English will meet at 7:00 pm on the 2nd and 4th Friday evenings until December 13th.

Church cancellation: Worship service is cancelled when parking lot is inaccessible. Please call the church to hear a cancellation message or listen to CBC 990AM or 89.3 FM or CJOB 680AM.

Deadline In order for your announcements to be published for Sunday, please have the information to the office at tuc@mymts.net no later than Wednesday at 11:00 am. Thank you for your consideration.

In Case of an Emergency We have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) located to the left of the exit doors to the parking lot, a First Aid Kit, a walker, and a Comfort Care Kit located on the shelf to the left of the large entry doors to the sanctuary.

Trinity United is Scent Free Please refrain from using products that contain scents as they may affect the breathing ability of others.

From the Property Committee: We now have security cameras in our parking lot – remember to smile!

Electronic Recycling You can bring batteries, light bulbs, cords, and any electronics to the church and place them in the marked blue box in the narthex to be properly recycled. Is your old TV too heavy to carry into the church? Just call the church, leave us a message and we will be happy to come and collect it!

New: We will also collect used vehicle oil, filters and anti-freeze and any paint; call and we’ll pick it up.
