Trinity United Church Office Hours: Regular office hours Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 1:00pm. The office is closed on all statutory holidays.

Scripture Readings for the week ending October 13, 2019 – Deuteronomy 26:1-11; Psalm 100; Philippians 4:4-9; John 6:25-35. Join us for Bible Study on Monday at 7:15pm and Wednesday at Riverwood Square at 10 a.m.

DID YOU KNOW at its June meeting, the Board decided to sell the back 5 pews on both sides? Over the summer, we sold 10 pews, moved the chairs forward and brought up chairs from the lower hall. This change will provide more flexible space while keeping our seating capacity. 1 pew was sold to a family from Trinity; 9 pews were sold to a woodworker who will make cabinets.

DID YOU KNOW we now have a “DONATE NOW” button on our website? One time or monthly donations can be made online through Canada Helps as part of your givings.

THANK YOU – Trinity has been gifted a beautiful stained glass Pride candle holder displayed on the communion table.

Big Question – Is Humanity the pinnacle of creation? Oct. 6 9:30 a.m. in the youth room. If you would like to be added to the email list to receive copies of the Big Question or if you would like a printed copy let Irma know.



Trinity UC is looking to hire a casual, part time, administrative assistant to cover office duties during our regular office administrative assistant’s medical absence.  If you like connecting with people, and have good computer skills (Microsoft office, emails, power point, etc), please email your resume/cover letter to the TUC office.  Please pass this announcement along to anyone you think may be interested.

We need your help Please sign-up in the narthex (north wall) for Sundays to usher, greet, read scripture, and lead the prayers. Thank you for being involved in your church offering your time and talents.

The 2020 Stewardship Campaign package has been emailed this week; printed copies are available at the church. If you wish to receive envelopes and/or your third quarter financial statement, please email ( or call the office (204 269 1632).

Sun Oct 13 is Thanksgiving Sunday. A special collection of individual serving size foods will be collected for West Broadway Community Ministry to replenish their emergency food cupboard. A sample of many items is displayed at the church and a picture below. We’ll have this as our display on Thanksgiving to remind us of “Loving our Neighbours”.

Sun Nov 10th Remembrance Sunday – Do you have a photo of a loved one who served in the war you’d like to share with us during worship? Did you submit one last year and would like us to use it again? Please contact the office to submit your photos for this special remembrance. Thank you.

Bomber Games: Thank you to all who have volunteered for the first eight Bomber games, soccer games, NFL game and the marathon! We are grateful for all who support this fundraising activity. There are still 4 spots for Oct 25 game. Please speak to Marilyn Loat, Irma or Elizabeth if you have questions. Thank you!

Working in Support of Equality (Manitoba) Inc. Annual W.I.S.E. Breakfast on Friday, October 18 “(Still) Calling for Justice: Redress and Healing Beyond the National Inquiry” is the topic of the 2019 W.I.S.E. breakfast at the RBC

BOOK STUDY: Christian Education Committee invites you read The Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline for a book study (after worship) on Sun Oct 27. This book is available at the library, McNally Robinsons and Chapters. Happy reading!


Trinity and Good Shepherd Events at Trinity

Not a Bible Study! Written on the Heart: The Bible for Anglicans [& others!] in the 21st Century is an informative national church video featuring interviews with Canadian clergy/theologians on topics of biblical interpretation, context and relevance. 8 – 1 hour sessions with discussion beginning Wed. Sept. 18 from 6:30-7:30pm in the sanctuary *N.B. No session Wed. Oct. 30

Praise and Worship – Celebrating Peace – a worship service for all on October 26 at 7:00 p.m. with the Second Chance Band and a joint GSA/TUC choir. No admission. Donations for Just a Warm Sleep will be gratefully accepted.

Just Talk – a conversation class for newcomers and those wanting to improve their speaking and listening skills in English will meet at 7:00 pm on the 2nd and 4th Friday evenings until December 13th.

In Case of an Emergency We have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) located to the left of the exit doors to the parking lot, a First Aid Kit, a walker, and a Comfort Care Kit located on the shelf to the left of the large entry doors to the sanctuary.

Trinity United is Scent Free Please refrain from using products that contain scents as they may affect the breathing ability of others.

From the Property Committee: We now have security cameras in our parking lot – remember to smile!

Electronic Recycling You can bring batteries, light bulbs, cords, and any electronics to the church and place them in the marked blue box in the narthex to be properly recycled. Is your old TV too heavy to carry into the church? Just call the church, leave us a message and we will be happy to come and collect it!

New: We will also collect used vehicle oil, filters and anti-freeze and any paint; call and we’ll pick it up.
