Elizabeth will be away on study leave from April 25 to May 1 attending Revitalize 3 in London, Ontario. In the event of any pastoral emergencies during this time, please contact Rev. Dr. Paul Campbell.

Sunday, April 28 – A service of music and scripture in support of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.  Music from “Stay with Us” a cantata for the Easter Season (Lyrics by Walter Farquharson, Music by Ron Klusmeier) will be offered by our choir in conjunction with some of our favorite Easter hymns.  If you love to sing, consider joining the choir for this special event.  Envelopes will be made available for donations to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank and tax receipts will be issued for donations of $10 or more.

Clean up inside and outside the church! Saturday May 4th from 9am to noon, come and help us do some spring cleaning in the church. Bring your buckets rags and rakes and help us make things sparkle!

Save the date: Trinity Sew and Sews Quilt show will be held on Friday, May 10 4:30 – 8:30 pm and Saturday May 11 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. Admission is $5.00/person. For information contact: trinitysewandsews@gmail.com

DID YOU KNOW? The palm leaves we use on Palm Sunday are dried and will be burned next year and the ashes will be used for Ash Wednesday (or, for us, on the Sunday after). They signify the turning of the year and passing of seasons.

What if I Got Hit by a Bus – Good Shepherd is planning to host a seminar on getting one’s affairs in order on Sat Apr 27th from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm. Presenter: Margaret Meush; lunch provided by Richard Rosin Funeral Director Ltd. Cost: $65, includes manual. Minimum of 6 participants required. Please contact Sandi Vincent from Good Shepherd if interested: asderks@mymts.net.

the board meets 8 times a year and has representatives from each committee and 2 members at large? The board makes decisions on policy and is the official decision making body of the church. It is the connection from Trinity to Prairie to Pine Region and General Council of the United Church of Canada

We continue our search for a chair and deputy chair of the board. A number of other committees also continue their search for new members. If you feel called to these positions, please speak to Karen Wall (kwall@mymts.net) or any member of the board.

Bomber sign-up sheets are now up! Bring your calendar and sign up for the Bomber games. You can sign up for a full shift (6 hours) or half a shift (3 hours). Training is available for all new people and dates will be available soon. Please speak to Marilyn Loat, Irma or Elizabeth if you have questions. Thank you!

Trinity’s Repeat Announcements

Ambassadors: The Fellowship Committee is looking for volunteers to act as Sunday morning ambassadors. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact Bev Wiens at 204-981-6683.

The United Church Halfway homes are looking for an exercise bike for the use of its residents. If you have one that is in good repair that you would be willing to donate, please contact Ed Johnson at ed.johnson@umanitoba.ca

 

Trinity and Good Shepherd Events at Trinity

Southside Fellowship at Trinity is offering free adapted Yoga for seniors (chair can be used or the floor). Mondays – April 29, May 6 & 13. Time 1-2 pm yoga, 2-3 social time. For further information contact Suni at 204-275-7639.

From the Property Committee: We now have security cameras in our parking lot and in the narthex – remember to smile!

Electronic Recycling You can bring batteries, light bulbs, cords, and any electronics to the church and place them in the marked blue box in the narthex to be properly recycled. Is your old TV too heavy to carry into the church? Just call the church, leave us a message and we will be happy to come and collect it!

New: We will also collect used vehicle oil, filters and anti-freeze and any paint; call and we’ll pick it up.
