New Announcements

We have returned to our normal Sunday Worship schedule with TUC Worship services at 10:45am. We look forward to seeing everyone back and refreshed from a beautiful summer!

Community BBQ Update

It was a great day for a Community BBQ and, in spite of the scattered showers; our neighbours came to share in food, fun and fellowship. We wish to thank the Siri Lankans song/sing and dance group, Bert and Brittany (duo) Phillis Nachalango and Charlie Powell for entertaining us with their music, it was truly well received. Thank you to all of the Trinity and Good Shepherd people, who volunteered and shared your Spirit, time and talents to make the Sat Sept 8th BBQ a time of community and friendship in our neighbourhood.

Thanks to the team of folks Shaheeda Koning, Charlie Powell, Wendy Wylie (GSAC rep), Edgar Rosales, Suni Matthews, Milly Malavsky, Elizabeth Brown (Ministerial Representatives) and Jackie Snarr who planned for 18 months and worked so much on the day of the Community BBQ and Fun Event.

Three umbrellas were left in the church after the BBQ. If you misplaced your umbrella, please take a look outside Elizabeth’s office.

WEST BROADWAY COMMUNITY MINISTRY – “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” will take place Saturday, September 29, 2018, with a brand new route and new sites to learn about. We will be venturing across Portage to show the stones and the gems of the Spence and West Broadway area. For more information about the event

From the Stewardship Committee: Summer is over and many of us have returned to our regular ways of work, school, activities and routines. Please remember to catch up your offering if you’ve been away; if you’d like to know more about Pre-Authorized Remittance that enables the church to receive your offering even if you’re away, please call the office.

Trinity’s Repeat Announcements

Worship service at Personal Care Homes  Do you like to sing and be with our elders? Do you have about an hour at 2:00 pm on the 2nd and 3rd Wed. of the month? Would you like to live out your faith by ministering to a great group of people? Come and join us as we worship at St. Norbert and South East Personal Care Homes. Please speak with Elizabeth Brown or Debbie Spindler if you need more information or would love to join us.

Visiting Trinity Folks We are looking for a few more visitors (men and women) for our Caring Connections program. If you would enjoy visiting our elders in their homes or facilities and you have 2 hours a month, this program is ideal. Please speak to Elizabeth if you’d like more information or would like to volunteer.

Trinity United Church, in co-operation with 4 other local congregations is seeking a Shared Youth Leader to plan and deliver youth programming at each congregation. This is a contract position beginning in Sept. of 2018 until May 2019. This position is 10-12 hours per week, with evening and Sunday morning commitments.

Bomber Fundraiser! Only three games left in the season of parking cars and directing people at the Bomber games! Thank you to all who have volunteered so far. Here are the remaining games with spots left to fill:

Fri Oct 26th – 5:30 pm start time: 10 people

If you’d like to volunteer and haven’t done this before, speak to Marilyn Loat or Elizabeth. Everyone who has taken ANY training is fine to volunteer!

Just Talk – a conversation class for newcomers and those wanting to improve their speaking and listening skills in English. Friday evening: 7 – 8:30 at Trinity United Church. Contact Ann and Peter Timonin (204-261-7578) or for more information

In Case of an Emergency We have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) located to the left of the exit doors to the parking lot, a First Aid Kit, a walker and a Comfort Care Kit located on the shelf to the left of the large entry doors to the sanctuary.

We need your help Please sign-up on the bright green poster in the coat area for Sundays to usher, greet, read scripture, and lead the prayers. Thank you for being involved in your church offering your time and talents.

Trinity United is Scent Free Please refrain from using products that contain scents as they affect the breathing ability of others.

Bulletin Sponsorship List for 2018 is up on the bulletin board. Please consider sponsoring a bulletin for any of the dates listed or sponsor a bulletin to mark a memoriam or special occasion in your life. Bulletin cover sponsorships range between $30.00 and $50.00; both the Easter and Christmas bulletins cost $50.00.

Electronic Recycling You can bring batteries, light bulbs, cords, and any electronics to the church and place them in the marked blue box in the narthex to be properly recycled. Is your old TV too heavy to carry into the church? Just call the church, leave us a message and we will be happy to come and collect it!

New: We will also collect used vehicle oil, filters and anti-freeze; call and we’ll pick it up.

Please discontinue bringing grocery bags for the Food Bank.   We appreciate your response but they are no longer required at this time.
