Sunday Happenings


Effective August 15 all codes will be removed from the security system. Please contact the office prior to this date to give us your old code and new code (4 numbers).

After this date your old code will not work.

For Sunday – August 12th – 9:30 a.m. 

Bomber fundraiser! We are half way through the season and there’s only 5 games left of parking cars and directing people at the Bomber games! There are still 9 people needed for the Friday August 17game. If you’d like to volunteer and haven’t done this before, speak to Marilyn Loat or Elizabeth. Everyone who has taken ANY training is fine to volunteer!

Scripture Readings for the week ending August 19: 1 Kings 2:10-12; 3:3-14; Psalm 111; Proverbs 9:1-6; Psalm 34:9-14; Ephesians 5:15-20; John 6:51-58. Enjoy your home study. Bible Study resumes in the fall.

New Announcements

The Community BBQ committee would like to borrow 4 or 5 canopy style tent/awnings for the Saturday September 8th BBQ and Fun Event. Please contact Jackie Snarr at 204-261-3222 if you are able to loan us this type of awning for this event. Thank you.


Trinity’s Repeat Announcements

There is a job posting on Trinity’s bulletin board:

Trinity United Church, in co-operation with 4 other local congregations is seeking a Shared Youth Leader to plan and deliver youth programming at each congregation. This is a contract position beginning in September of 2018 until May 2019. This position is 10-12 hours per week, with evening and Sunday morning commitments.

Immanuel United Church is looking for a part time Sunday School Director. See bulletin board for details.

Habitat for Humanity Trinity is providing snacks for coffee breaks for volunteers at the Habitat build in August and will donate baked goods and fresh fruit. All baked goods must be nut free and wrapped in individual servings. All fruit (apples or oranges) must be washed and bagged or wrapped in individual servings. There is a signup sheet in the Narthex. Donations must be received in the office by Aug. 20. Janet Murray (204-269-7452 ) can collect items ahead of time if that’s helpful to you. Thank you for your support of this project of the Outreach Committee.

FRBC Food Bank will begin it’s regular schedule Aug. 23All clients must register before August 23 with Winnipeg Harvest at 204-982-3660

City of Winnipeg Cycling Maps are available in the office.

Community BBQ and Fun Event Sept. 8Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer at the Sept. 8 Community BBQ. Information for volunteers will be sent to you prior to the event!

Deadline In order for your announcements to be published for Sunday, please have the information to the office at no later than Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Thank you for your consideration.

In Case of an Emergency We have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) located to the left of the exit doors to the parking lot, a First Aid Kit, a walker and a Comfort Care Kit located on the shelf to the left of the large entry doors to the sanctuary.

We need your help Please sign-up on the bright green sheet in the coat area for Sundays to usher, greet, read scripture, and lead the prayers. Thank you for being involved in your church offering your time and talents.

Bulletin Sponsorship List for 2018 is up on the bulletin board. Please consider sponsoring a bulletin for any of the dates listed or sponsor a bulletin to mark a memoriam or special occasion in your life. Bulletin cover sponsorships range between $30.00 and $50.00; both the Easter and Christmas bulletins cost $50.00.

Electronic Recycling You can bring batteries, light bulbs, cords, and any electronics to the church and place them in the marked blue box in the narthex to be properly recycled. Is your old TV too heavy to carry into the church? Just call the church, leave us a message and we will be happy to come and collect it!

Please discontinue bringing grocery bags for the Food Bank.   We appreciate your response but they are no longer required at this time.
