Trinity’s Repeat Announcements

Marigolds The marigolds that were planted at the outdoor service are up. If you would like to gently remove one and take it home to plant in your garden, please dig it up after Sunday’s service. Little baggies are provided.

Note of thanks from Milly Malavsky Thank you to all who made time for a pastoral visit with me since I announced my retirement plans last September. I said then that time would soon run out for us, and it has; I can’t believe it. I hope to see all of you at my retirement party Sun., Sept. 16.

Community BBQ and Fun Event update Trinity and Good Shepherd invite you to our Community BBQ and Fun Event on Sat., Sept. 8, 2018 at 12:00 – 4:00 PM. The committee would like to thank our sponsors and donors for their generous contributions to the event.  Thank you to the: United Church Embracing the Spirit Grant; Church of the Good Shepherd (Anglican); Trinity United Church; Outreach Committee; Sew and Sews; The Medicine Shop- John Thompson; Janice Lukes, City of Winnipeg; Sysco Foods; and our team members who have the Manitoba Food Handler’s Certificate.  Our churches and community members have been awesome in supporting the upcoming BBQ. THANKS. Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer at the Sept. 8 Community BBQ. Information for volunteers will be sent to you prior to the event!

There is a job posting on Trinity’s bulletin board: Trinity United Church, in co-operation with 4 other local congregations is seeking a Shared Youth Leader to plan and deliver youth programming at each congregation. This is a contract position beginning in September of 2018 until May 2019. This position is 10-12 hours per week, with evening and Sunday morning commitments.

It’s time to pick your favourite hymn for summer Sundays. Each Sunday that Trinity leads the service during the summer months, there are two spots for your favourite hymn. The list is posted on the green bulletin board. Thanks for signing up.

FRBC Food Bank is closed July 12, July 26 and Aug. 9. The Food Bank opens Aug. 23. Everyone utilizing the Food Bank needs to call Winnipeg Harvest at 204-982-3660 to register before August 23.

Bomber fundraiser! The sign up boards are posted, and another season of parking cars and directing people at the Bomber games has begun! This is a major fundraising project for Trinity and we need everyone’s help. If we all take our turn for 1, 2 or more games, it lightens the load on everyone. There are people needed for the July 27 game (3 people for 5:30 to 11:30, 1 person for 8:30-11:30). There have been some changes to the Bomber Traffic Services Management (again!). They have decided that ANYONE who has taken any training in the past – either with Kurt or Daniel – is trained to volunteer this year. The online link is now disabled and cannot be used. So if you have volunteered at any time, you are qualified to sign up for this year. If you’ve never done this before, you will have to take an in person training. If you have any questions, please call Marilyn Loat or Elizabeth. Go Bombers!

Deadline In order for your announcements to be published for Sunday, please have the information to the office at no later than Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Thank you for your consideration.

In Case of an Emergency We have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) located to the left of the exit doors to the parking lot, a First Aid Kit, a walker and a Comfort Care Kit located on the shelf to the left of the large entry doors to the sanctuary.

We need your help Please sign-up on the bright green sheet in the coat area for Sundays to usher, greet, read scripture, and lead the prayers. Thank you for being involved in your church offering your time and talents.

Pastoral Care Elizabeth Brown and Milly Malavsky are available to you. Contact us at or call our confidential line 204-269-1632.

Elizabeth will be away on holidays Jul. 9 to Jul. 22.

Trinity United is Scent Free Please refrain from using products that contain scents as they affect the breathing ability of others.

Bulletin Sponsorship List for 2018 is up on the bulletin board. Please consider sponsoring a bulletin for any of the dates listed or sponsor a bulletin to mark a memoriam or special occasion in your life. Bulletin cover sponsorships range between $30.00 and $50.00; both the Easter and Christmas bulletins cost $50.00.

Electronic Recycling You can bring batteries, light bulbs, cords, and any electronics to the church and place them in the marked blue box in the narthex to be properly recycled. Is your old TV too heavy to carry into the church? Just call the church, leave us a message and we will be happy to come and collect it!

Please discontinue bringing grocery bags for the Food Bank.   We appreciate your response, but they are no longer required at this time.

Please see Bulletin Board for community information.
