Trinity’s Repeat Announcements

The Boat People by Sharon Bala is a gripping and morally complex novel about a group of refugees who survive a perilous ocean voyage to reach Canada — only to face the threat of deportation and accusations of terrorism in their new land.  Milly Malavsky and Elizabeth Brown are hosting two book studies: Sun., Apr. 29 and Sun., May 6.  Light refreshments are available.  Please sign-up if you intend to participate so we can prepare for you.

Spring Cleanup for Trinity United Church will take place on Sat., May 5 at 9:00 AM.

Winnipeg Iridesce Event at Churchill Park United ChurchSun., May 6.  Thirty years ago, the United Church of Canada declared that sexual orientation was not a barrier to church membership and ordination.  Join us for a discussion 1:00-4:00 PM about how that has been for you.  See bulletin board for more details or see website:

Heads up Youth!  Trinity United is offering you an opportunity to get together with other youths (13 years and older) who want to think, wonder and talk about church, life and faith and how they work together; we look at God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and how to live in the world as God’s people during the four classes. Elizabeth or Milly will be with you on Sundays at 10:45 -11:45 AM.  Mark these dates: May 20, June 3, 10, and 17.  Please let us know if you plan to attend. Many of you have learned much in Sunday School Explorers already.  If you would like to build on your knowledge, reflect more on what you know, and consider becoming a member of Trinity United through the process of confirmation or baptism, please be in touch with Elizabeth or Milly at or call the church at 204-269-1632.  We will be in touch once we have your response.  Thank you for considering this offer and getting back to us.

Billets Needed The Annual General Meeting of the United Church Conference for Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario will be held from Thurs., May 24 – Sun., May 27 at the University of Manitoba.  In 2015, there were many congregants from Trinity who volunteered to host delegates; the Local Arrangements Committee hopes we can offer the same support or more this time.  If you are interested in hosting a delegate or delegates in your home, please contact Doris Quinn or Jack Armstrong a

Cushions Does sitting on our wooden pews during a church service leave you with a backache or sore rear end?  We have some cushions for your use above the coat racks.  Help yourself or bring your own from home and leave it here for your use.

Electronic Recycling You can bring batteries, light bulbs, cords, and any electronics to the church and place them in the marked blue box in the narthex to be properly recycled.  Is your old TV too heavy to carry into the church?  Just call the church, leave us a message and we will be happy to come and collect it!
