Trinity’s New Announcements

Special Congregational Meeting Trinity will be holding a special congregational meeting Sunday, April 8, right after service to review, discuss and vote on motions associated with the report from the Visioning Committee (VC).  The VC was charged with the responsibility of gathering information about, and making recommendations about, Trinity’s future ministerial needs in light of Milly Malavsky’s September 2018 retirement. The VC’s report will be made available to the congregation two weeks prior to the April 8 congregational meeting, as required by the United Church.  The report will be sent via e-mail by March 25 to those who receive e-mail information from the church.  Some hard copies will be available at service on March 25, Palm Sunday.

*Save the Date* –  Spring Concert Apr., 10  Lift your spirits after a long winter as you enjoy a Spring Concert with the Whyte Ridge Children’s Choirs and Recorder Ensemble, directed by Liz Kristjanson, at Trinity United Church, Tue., Apr. 10 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM..  Refreshments served after the concert.  Come, and bring your neighbours!  On Sunday, Suni Matthews will be passing around signup sheet for those who can help by supplying mandarin oranges for the students.  We require 16 bags of mandarins.  Thank you!

March 25 at 7:30 pm at Westminster United Church, pianist and narrator Michael McKay will be giving a sacred piano recital called “Via Crucis (The Way of the Cross)”. The recital will be a unique experience, combining the piano solo version of Franz Liszt’s Via Crucis with readings from Anne Catherine Emmerich’s Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the candle-extinguishing ceremony of a Tenebrae service. The whole experience will be a powerful and dramatic meditation on the Stations of the Cross–on Christ’s sufferings, death, and burial. Admission: $20, payable at the door

Winnipeg Iridesce Event – Churchill Park United Church, Sunday May 6.  Thirty years ago the United Church of Canada declared that sexual orientation was not a barrier to church membership and ordination.  Join us for a discussion about how that has been for you.  Worship at 10am  Workshop 1-4 – see bulletin board for more details or see website:
